That's kind of like saying the Mississippi River is a Gulf since they are connected. The Gulf of America is an Ocean Basin, not an Ocean.

Makes me respect the Indians more. If you want to be up your family's butt all the time, just buy a big house with them. Or a big plot of land. But don't hug Nana and Pawpaw and act like you haven't seen them in months at a baseball tournament, when you literally ate dinner with them the night before.
People are 17ing weird. Had this bunch I coached with for a while, we had practices twice a week and then tournaments on the weekend. A few of them shook hands and were like "What's up man what's you been up to?" I'd be like dude I was literally with you all day yesterday, what exactly could I have been up since then besides drinking myself to sleep and dreading coming out here again???

This may not be the place to say it but we all know why, you just have to be willing to admit it.
This whole story bothers me for a variety of reasons. Obviously the most tragic part is that a young man who by all accounts was a great person, is gone. But the parents have done a lot of damage to that community, and our state as a whole.
Two things can be true at the same time. Yes, Mississippi has a terribly racist past. But in my opinion, there’s no place in the country where race relations are better, present-day. My kids are bi-racial. My wife is Mexican/Italian, but more Mexican than Italian. As a result, our kids, who are beautiful, have a very distinct look. My wife was a little concerned when we moved to South MS. And do you know how they’ve been treated? NOT ONE DAMN BIT DIFFERENT. The younger generations in this state truly do not see color.
Yes, there are some people who are racist, but they are few and far between. The only negative experience we’ve had occurred a couple years ago. My wife was shopping in a local boutique clothing store. Now keep in mind that my wife is definitely darker-skinned, but is an incredibly well-dressed, classy woman. At 40, she still turns heads.
Anyway, we’re in the store and my wife whispers to me, “The store clerks won’t leave me alone. They’re following me everywhere like I’m going to steal something.” I told her I was sure that wasn’t the case, and that I was sure they were just trying to be helpful. However, the more I observed, the more I was sure that my wife was 100% right. I was pissed.
So I loudly asked my wife if she had found anything she liked, and she shook her head “no.” So I loudly stated, “All this stuff looks cheap and tacky. If I’m going to spend a couple thousand dollars somewhere, I want better quality. Let’s go somewhere else.” The look on those biddies’ faces was priceless.

I just love the way it tongue-ties Mike Wallace. He is just stunned that Morgan doesn't want a "black history month". Morgan just rips it apart, and Wallace can't even respond. I love it so much.
Buddy doesn't bother me nearly as much as "Boss". Meaning when someone calls me Boss when I know they don't mean it - it comes off as very condescending. I am a good tipper usually, but if some douche canoe waiter starts calling me Boss, that dude is getting snubbed.
And there are some people in pretty high places in Mississippi politics that do it. I won't name names, but if you are in a position of authority and call someone that is obviously beneath you on the social scale "Boss"... just stop it. It makes you look like the real prick you are.
Agree with this as well. I don’t get it from positions of authority and I honestly think most people who say it to me don’t mean anything by it, but I’m not your boss just because I decided to use your business to get an oil change

I get annoyed with any hosted show where anyone past the first caller asks “how you doing?” To start their call. I suppose it is possible the dude had a major medical event or his wife dumped him since the last guest but it highly unlikely….

Am I missing the rash of white in black crime? I keep hearing these folks say Noland is dead and it follows a pattern of white supremacy violence against blacks. Not withstanding the black on black violence, don’t the stats say white on black violence is almost non-existant? Even in Mississippi, it’s virtually not a thing. If anything, it’s black on white crime that’s the problem.
These same folks want to blame innocent whites for Noland drowning are the same ones that think Karmello Anthony did nothing wrong. They think OJ was innocent. The subway murderer was a case of mental illness.

The truth, what should be getting the constant attention in the media and elsewhere is the obvious problems with violence and especially gun violence in the black community. Instead we get these stories ad naseum.
It’s not just being wet. It’s salt water which has a tendency to destroy just about anything. Also, it’s a cultural component of being that far out into the gulf. People actually don’t want to be bothered by their phones and everyday life. It’s really hard for some people to comprehend that last point.
It is depressing to hear all the people say things like "what kind of teenager is going to leave his phone on the boat". Aside from the idiocy of expecting somebody to carry around a phone in salt water all day, the answer is a healthy teenager. If you are on a white sand beach and you already have a dozen or two of your friends with you, and you have cold drinks and music plus women, what kind of degenerate do you have to be to think, "the only thing that could make this better is if I was looking at my phone." I get that a lot of people are that addicted and I feel bad for them, but I have a lot less sympathy when they pretend to not even imagine anybody making better choices, as if they have zero blame for their dependency.
Yea, I think we can safely say at this point she probably wasn't not crazy before all this happened. Grief may have made her incapable of controlling it at all, but there's probably a reason that she has been able to avoid knowing any of her son's friends.

This always drives me crazy, especially sports show hosts. The dude is getting paid to talk about sports. He's doing great. He was doing great yesterday. He will be doing great tomorrow and for as long as he is being paid to talk about sports.
