Read the article - so who will be the ABC affiliate?

In Jackson, MS, CBS will be found on Hearst’s WAPT-TV, and Nexstar plans to replace the CBS programming on WJTV-TV with its own network The CW, which has been on a digital channel.

CBS network feed will be on 16.4 OTA, hopefully CSpire and other providers will be on the ball and get it into the lineup. 16.4 is currently not being used for another of WAPT’s OTA channels.

Sorry to see this. I am afraid we are going to lose WCBI in Columbus. They are down to 1 News Anchor with Kealy leaving after this month. Local TV stations are really struggling to survive which is a pity because we depend on them for severe weather notification.

What Matt Laubaun is doing is going to replace local tv news and weather. It’s the future.

Will be incredibly surprised if Directv has an HD quality version of this channel up this year. Usually they struggle when needing to show any sub-channels, like the current CW. Worst case I have paramount plus, or could tune into 16.4 if I want a non-stream delayed version.

I've lived in 7 different areas of the country in my 65 years and wcbi is without a doubt the worst excuse for a news, sports and weather station I've ever witnessed, anywhere. The on air reporters and hosts are just, the worst. I feel much safer with just a little NOAA weather radio broadcast than with wcbi trying to report weather.

The company that owns the station is outside MS and is not spending much to retain talent. They are hiring meteorology students to do the weather so it is a positive for State. I prefer seeing radar and having an expert analyze it for potential tornadoes over listening to NOAA radio.

I would too if I felt like the person analyzing it wasn't a student.

Starkville residents get one of those services for free (Code Red maybe??) that sends out warnings and those have been really good from what I've experienced. They are typically a pay service but around here they do them free because of past history of bad weather. There's another one too that I get but can't remember the name of it, WeatherCall maybe??? I also use Matt Lablahn's weather app on my phone and get warnings from them too.

Meh, I don't care about watching Wisconsin v Ohio State. As long as I can get ABC/ESPN, I'm good.
