Well, that sucks. Hopefully he has really good insurance with higher limits on the structure/dwelling as well as personal contents. We always write to the max coverage for all possibilities including a separate policy for the roof should it need replaced for any reason. Add in liability with the property should someone get injured.

What is this separate policy for the roof that would pay for replacement for any reason? My roof is old and I'd love to hear about it.

Would love to hear about this coverage that pays for a roof to be replaced for any reason, Outbackbowl2017.

I'm sure he has insurance.
Insurance is great but the inconvenience of finding new digs, repairing the home and replacement of personal belongings is painful. Been there and done that. Displaced for six months, no fun.

All the best to Tim and his family. Every day will get better.

Thanking the good Lord that Tim and his family weren't home. Hope they can pick up the pieces and get back to normal life soon.
