The strike out totals over the last couple weeks have been very alarming.

I think we should let Goldschmidt be our hitting coach.

Joe Girardi and Paul O'Neill have both said quite a few things about the lack of hitting that were very informative.

Goldschmidt is in a slump as well. lol

Yankees lose again. 16 more strikeouts to go with 17 from last night. That's pretty bad.

I made a mistake in my previous post. The Yankees had 17 Ks for the 2nd game in a row. The first team in the history of MLB to have 17 Ks two games in a row. Let that soak in. In history!

When an entire team is in a massive slump you have to wonder what in the hell is the hitting coach doing? They show him in the dugout and I never see him talking to the players.

I saw the lineup on social media yesterday afternoon and was like....what in the actual ****. I get that with a lefty starting they wanted to get all the right handed batters in they could but good lord that was a split squad early spring training lineup.

I also wonder if the hitting coach has screwed all their swings up. Goldschmidt struck out 4 times and is in the worst slump of his career, as is Bellinger who is 7 for his last 72 and only 1 RBI in over a month. Joe Girardi said last night he had never seen an entire team all struggle at the plate at the same time. Ive got 20 years on Joe and I've never seen it either.

Goldy's first or second at bat he looked utterly lost and completely befuddled. Now, father time has certainly slowed him down a bit but you are talking about a guy that has been a pro's pro hitter for a long time. And he looked like he was blind at the plate.

It was honestly painful to watch.

Did you see Cabellero just drop the bat when he was batting? He does some strange things. He also struck out 4 times.

That safety squeeze the Yankees just did was idiotic as hell. As soon as the ball was bunted right back to the pitcher The Martian should not have gone home. And to slide head first into the catcher blocking the plate is so stupid. The way The Martian's arm bent back he's lucky he didn't break it. He was flexing it on the way back to the dugout. Slide feet first into the catcher and drive them into his chest and he'll think twice about blocking the plate and might drop the ball. Joe Girardi has really criticized the Yankees for sliding head first so much and I agree with him.

Maybe all that grinding is starting to pay off. Yanks banged out SIX (6!!!!!!) hits last night and only struck out 11 times....while scoring zero runs / getting shutout!

Sitting here watching the Yankees game and I swear this is the most boring Yankees team since some of the late 1960s teams. And the bullpen. Smh Hill has really sucked of late.

I normally don't watch the Home Run Derby or the All Star game. Neither are exciting to me. But I figured with Rice being in the derby this year I would watch. But since it's on NETFLIX only I'll pass. When did MLB go to this format. Are they trying to alienate fans?

Glad they ended the first half on a 4 game wining streak.

Never been a fan of Yankees in the Home Run Derby. Seems like it more than often it hurts guys averages.
That has indeed messed up the swing of some players but they swear it didn't.

Did I hear correctly the other day, that the Yanks' bullpen has the second-lowest ERA in the majors? That can't be.

I heard them say they had the top bullpen ERA. I don't pay attention to other teams but they all must really suck because the Yankees pen is a joke.

I'm ready for some baseball. Looks like I'll miss the Saturday and Sunday night games so that means the Yankees will win at least 2 of the 3 games. lol

Yankees remaining strength of schedule is .504.

My grandfather was a country preacher whose favorite saying (outside of quoting scripture) was "it's better to laugh than cry"

So I'm reading a story on The Athletic where two writers gave grades to every Yankee regular season to date. The last player on the list was Stanton....and the second writer ended the article with this:

"Stanton: D-

On April 24, Stanton strained his right calf advancing to second base on a walk, and he hasn't played a game since."

He pulled his calf muscle going to second base AFTER A WALK. Just a walk/jog to second. You can't make this up.

It's been over 15 years since my grandad obtained his heavenly reward, but reading that blurb I heard my grandfather's voice in my head saying "remember son, it's better to laugh than cry." So instead of crying at the thought of a professional athlete straining a muscle jogging down to second base, I laughed my *** off.

I laughed more when Stanton developed another calf issue 2 weeks ago when jogging so he will be out for longer as his rehab has started over.

What a stupid loss, which has been the Yankees M.O. this summer. The Yankees challenge obvious plays that they are not going to win, and don't challenge plays they they should challenge. Who the hell is in charge of challenges?

And to send Grisham home, running from 1st to home on a double by Rice was just idiotic. Would have been 2nd and 3rd with one out And Goldy and Bellinger coming up, but instead they send Grisham home and like usual the opponent guns down yet another Yankee runner at home plate. Grisham half assed it from 1st to 2nd, obviously thinking Rice had hit a homer, then ran less than full speed to 3rd base, actually looking back once to see where the ball was. He should have been held up at that point considering the situtation and the 2 batters coming up, but running on a bad leg he was sent home. Just stupidity, wihcih defines the Yankees under Boone.

And Boone should have pulled Cole when he went to the mound but Cole talked him into leaving him in the game. A 2 run homer ensued. smh But the Yankees should have challneged the 0-2 pitch on Muncy and the inning would have been over, but instead Muncy hit a 2 run homer that won the game. Stupidity.

I was really angry at Grisham loafing not just to second, but to third as well. If he’s running from the start, it’s easy to send him and he scores standing up

Its a damn shame Schlittler has to take another loss because this team hits worse than a girls little league team. And the sucking *** bullpen just gave up 6 runs. It hurts me to see this team. I miss George.

Red Sox have won 13 games in a row. Meanwhile the Yankees can't win 2 games in a row. The All Star game once again killed the Yankees momentum.

I don't know why I keep watching this under achieving team. Bases loaded and no outs and no one can put a ball in play. This is a pathetic hitting team. The Martian, who to me has been a big disappointment since coming to the majors, struck out swinging at ball 4, as did Volpe, who has been another huge disappointment. And yet a third major disappointment, Jazz, swings at the first pitch and hits a tiny weak foul pop up.

As a former scout I can honestly say I can find a lot of issues with a lot of these players that should not be happening at the big league level. George would be blasting this team and would have canned Boone long ago. Hal just sits back and does nothing.

At least the Yankees won and they should have won game 1. I really wish the Yankees would trade Cruz. I don't know what they see in him and Boone repeatedly goes to him in the setup role and he continues to fail.

I really enjoyed CC and Clemens doing the game last night. Brought a lot of humor and fresh air to the game.
