I've read it a few times on twitter, articles, etc...so I asked a friend that's very connected, and he said that he'd actually be surprised if we aren't hosting it (no one in Oceania can do it, no one else in CONCACAF would make sense, and everyone would love to go back to the well and get rich off of it again).

I gave-up on Knicks when Riley left and had no intention of watching them but as I read about and watched them I realized they were likeable team. Feels like there are also plenty of ways to ensure players stay hydrated without making quarters that totally disrupt the game. Could just add hydration pause to corner kicks or dead balls and keep the players on the field (of course, then you couldn’t sell ads….).
The hydration breaks don't bother me at all. I am sure the coaches are all for it too. The sport really needs to be brought into this century. The way the clock works is idiotic and the way VAR is used is equally as stupid.

The hydration breaks are awful. Soccer is a game of momentum, at every level it’s continuous, as it should be.
I don’t mind how time is kept now, so I don’t see any reason to change it.
Is France-Spain truly the "final?" Some say so, but those two plus Argentina and England are the top 4 ranked FIFA squads (first time that has happened in the semis since we've had FIFA rankings), so surely Argentina and England, while they won't be favored against either France or Spain, can still win the Cup.
Soccer is one of those sports where underdogs probably have more chance of winning than most other sports, since so much of the game often depends on getting a single goal and the "better" team can dominate play, but still give up a goal from inspiration or just a simple mistake in the box. Newsflash. Every game is a game of momentum. Only in soccer, you can pretend you are hurt and writhe on the ground for a minute acting like you are injured. That stops momentum as much as a water break or a timeout. No difference.
Explain why the clock shouldn't be changed? A two point line would encourage more action and force defenses to come out more. Would be much more entertaining. Soccer needs a facelift to the new century.
No, you just need to stop whining about things you don't know about. Hydration breaks are there for ads - we all know it - and they screw with the spirit of a continuous game. Two point line would be stupid and we've heard enough of your whining about the clock - maybe talk about the matches like an actual fan, but we know you're not an actual fan, so that explains your stupid posts.
Back to the match. France seems a bit out of sorts so far, although some of that is definitely Spain playing well, holding possession and recovering the ball quickly when they lose possession - that can frustrate teams (and losing Saliba at center-back hasn't helped). France has still been dangerous at times, however, but haven't made that final pass to get a great scoring chance. Should be a fun 2nd half.

I'd prefer the hydration breaks to last 60 seconds and only if the temperature is above say 85 or 90 degrees.

Wow, that was a masterclass by Spain. They'll be heavy favorites against either England or Argentina.
Not a big Spain fan but that was classic Spain. Completely shutting down and frustrating a talented opponent. They showed some fan cheering for Spain who looked just like Christian Ronaldo. They even won him over with today’s performance. 
Excellent game, thrilled they knocked France out. However, I doubt they will be “heavy” favorites.

To me, Argentina has been underwhelming and lucky to still be in the tournament. Think the Swiss would have won had they played at full strength.
Agree on the French being most talented. Though the English aren’t too far behind.
Think you could just have multiple 60 second breaks through out and no one leaves the pitch.
