Shutdown, was talking to a Ashbrook Dad at Presbyterian last night and he isn’t too optimistic, kinda with you thinking they might be a little down this year with everything they lost and how young they are.

They also lost a couple of coaches. Ashbrook went all in last season with the help of Gaston County and didn’t win it. Some things going on there.

The new db from NJ has some really good film. Also saw online were another family connected to the MAC Dolphins was currently looking for a residence in KM.
We knew about the db in April. Family was relocating to KM but Jersey school year didn’t finish to mid June. @Freshmanposter01 I know you keep up with this stuff, how soon do you think it will be before we grow into 7A? KM has new housing projects everywhere and you can already see the effects of people moving in. Families are buying these homes up. I am actually seeing traffic jams in KM lol. KM sports will definitely benefit but I am also wondering how many students can KM High School and middle school actually accommodate?

100+ net for incoming to graduation numbers these next 3 years for sure. So if we graduate 300, we have 400 coming from 8th grade and that really started last year, so in that 4 year span, an extra 400 students got KM around 1650-1700... right there at the 7a zone, but with growth in the state in a few other areas, its possible we make one more alignment in 6A but thats it, not make it after that, it is climbing 7a from there. Plans have to be in the works for major expansion in the next 5-10 years because those numbers only account for homes thats been here awhile, not the newest homes in progress or fairly new that people from out of area are moving into with families in elementary grades now.

KM got plenty of room between intermediate school and high school to build a school in future if needed

Flood zone and environmental impact, in the wooded area...with the creeks throughout. Bus lot would be best bet to expand the high school, near where the newest major expansion wing was placed many years ago. Middle school has enough space in the field between it and the baseball field.

I know there was quite a bit of damage and one family lost about every thing. The sky was wild looking! It wasn’t far from Shelby Lion, he may have a more accurate version.
Pretty much about one mile up the road where the supposed tornado passed through, I only got some wind but my brother in laws house at intersection of our road and Dirty Ankle took damage, trees down destroyed an outbuilding on his property, trees down everywhere on the Ankle, someones camper flipped hoouses hit by trees , tree on cars etc

All in all it was for me just a mile away a bad storm

Maybe but no one cared about the environmental impact of all the houses and casino😂😂

Glad you are safe and hope those other folks have good insurance.

Everyone thinks about the Casino and other business growth helping KM expand but the rapid Charlotte metro growth impacts Kings Mountain also. People working in Charlotte are buying homes in all the surrounding areas, Cabarrus, Union, Gaston, bordering SC counties, and Kings Mountain. I know plenty of people making that commute to Charlotte everyday. I agree that we probably have one more realignment cycle in 6a.

The Big South this year comes down to 3 teams. SP, Crest and KM. The rest are not going to be very competitive compared the years prior. Just the way the talent level balanced out this year.

Ashbrook had a lot of impactful seniors last year. Don’t get me wrong they still have a very good QB and RB (we all know who they are), but the defections of their WR’s to Palisades and Shelby really hurt. I don’t think they will be terrible but no where close to the team they had last year.

Crest is definitely the cream of the crop until proven otherwise. The next best team is up in the air.

SP lost a 4 year starter at QB but the got a good Fullback/RB and the backup QB had over 100 yds in a game last season

This guy “ran the numbers” on Shelby season apparently. Can say if Cherryville only loses 35-14 it will be a banner year for Ironmen.
I am assuming you think this guy is off on at least the scores he is predicting. If so we are back to being peas and carrots because I think that guy is way off on some of those scores.

Yeah.. the surrounding area is booming and you have to include Lincoln and southeastern Catawba county(especially Terrell, Bandys area). The casino effect will be major in the next 5 years. Close to 4k permanent jobs and a developer that wants to do a massive project to provide housing for casino workers.

I believe Blacksburg and Gaffney will be impacted because of proximity. We will see.
