I don't watch with my antennas up anticipating political overtones. I don't go into a local business wondering if they supported a certain political party. There's a local art gallery business in town that often puts down, on it's signs, one of the 2 political parties. Just sell me a damn good product at a reasonable price and I will go away happy. I subscribe to a certain financial newsletter. I won't give his full name. But Don says the country is doomed in the very near term. He expects the U.S. to split into several nations. I laughed when he first said that back this past January. He said it again in his monthly newsletter a few days ago. But as time passes, I'm not so sure he is wrong. People want to focus on differences rather than what they have in common. My wife when we dated was of a different political persuasion than me. We got married 50 years ago. We are still married to each other and still of different political persuasions, though we do at times vote alike. But, maybe I'm just odd . But, I'm afraid that Don is on to something. And I find that sad. You know, cancer, heart disease, parkinsons, dementia, etc don't ask which political party you are affiliated with, what race, sex, religion you are. When you go meet your maker, how much money you have will not give you an advantage. But again, maybe my attitude makes me odd. I don't know.
