Vientos to IL thanks to a HBP on the hand. As part of the positional shuffling upon his removal from the game, Ewing was moved to 2B, where he had played a lot in the minors. He may get more run there when Robert is activated, which should be soon.
Not according to the interim skipper.

“He really, really saved us today,” Green said of Ewing, noting that he doesn’t expect the rookie to play much second base going forward. “We still see A.J. as a center fielder, who was a wonderful safety net for his teammates today.”

Another meh performance from Jonah Tong tonight. 5 innings, 4 runs, 4 hits, 2 HR, 3 BB, 8 K. He now has an ERA of dinnertime, which is not good, even if you are a fan of the early bird specials.

Whoever oversees the Mets minor league player development should be fired like yesterday. Have never seen so many guys below the Mendoza line.
I believe that a major reason why the Mets let Alonso walk, is that they felt Polanco would be an adequate bridge to either Ryan Clifford or Jacob Reimer, perhaps both. None of that appears to be working out at this time.

Being cheap some of the times usually doesn't work out in the long run. When the Mets are usually good, it's pitching that sets the tone for them. Stearns has something against pitching when it comes to the Mets, and we are seeing the results of that decision. Stearns' stubbornness will be his downfall.

You know when there is a problem - and that is when even good knowledgeable fans are trying to reach to find any way possible to find some sunshine in a pile of crap. Not against you Worm, as this is most likely what out little man POBO tells himself before cuddling up to Cohen before bed each night.

Whenever I here someone use something like this and that prospect coming up is not in the top 5 prospects in all of baseball and they are supposed to replace a person who is either a HOF or borderline HOF - I call out stupidity.

Taking the ferry from Highlands to game tonight and sitting with @e5fdny . Anyone else going on ferry from Highlands? Look for me, I will be wearing a Mets shirt. 😜

I may pitch tonight if the game gets out of hand. I submitted my credentials- pitched an immaculate inning in LL baseball when I was 9 or 10 years old.

On the subject of prospects, I just read an interview with Zack Scott, the man who traded Pete Crow-Armstrong. He admitted that the Cubs had asked for Matt Allan and he turned them down. TBH, Scott was correct in doing so, until he wasn't. Nobody has a crystal ball.

It is so "Met's" that we start to hear a little about how Vientos could have some trade value to be a right hand DH for teams making a push- and then he gets hit in the hand...sometimes- just can't make this stuff up.

Those who were there to witness that inning said you had "filthy" stuff.

Hammer DFA'd after one game in which he did not appear. I got no explanation for this one.
This franchise is a joke! If you leave out rehab assignments, I would bet that they lead the majors in players who have been in the minors this season.
