Sorry for your loss.

Losing a child was the worst day of my life. Looking down at my son was the most awful, gut wrenching, pissed off, upset & many other emotions all at once I've ever felt. And then some. Unstable would be accurate.

So I'll give this family a bit of grace for their decision making or lack thereof & won't be too critical. I'll pray for them & hope they turn to our Heavenly Father for guidance & lean on those around them who mean well.
One of the last funerals I went to was parents burying a child . When everyone walked away from the graveside her father stayed, watched the casket lowered and the dirt cover it . He was alone and the image will be forever etched in my mind. I cried .

Same here. Absolute worst ones to go to. I dare say I have been to more than anyone here. I watched three friends, including one of my best friends since early elementary school, get laid to rest in the span of two weeks. Two on the same day. There were two more in the span of just my high school years. And then two more before I finished at State.

One of the girl's mother was so broken that her daughter's room was exactly like it was the day she left home the last time until the day her mother herself died. A literal time capsule.

I had a teacher in high school that had a son murdered in Memphis. I think he was a delivery driver for FedEx and got shot so they could steal the truck. She was never the same after that.

They just lost their son. They arent thinking rationally. Fighting this fight is a way for their brain to not have to truly deal with the reality. It’s denial. It makes you do crazy things. The parents aren’t the bad guys here. The people taking advantage of their grief are.
Meh. I’m going to disagree with you on this one. This only happens with the same group…over and over. I respect and deeply regret their loss, but allowing these race baiters to establish footing is ultimately on the parents. They have the power to shut it down. Anything less and they’re a complicit party.

Some friends of mine lost their daughter just a couple weeks past graduation this year. It was a big news story at a godawful intersection off 49 and Cynthia in Clinton. Just a 17d up situation.

I can’t imagine any worse situation in this world than losing a child. I have no idea what else to even compare it to. I hate to hear of the posters in this thread that have gone through it.

It’s not hard to see how the parents could be influenced. Don’t be a dick. Blame the people that need to be blamed.

Black kids drown at significantly higher rates in this country than other racial groups. Parents need to make sure their children learn how to swim.

Sounds Al Sharpton-esque
Not only does it sound like him, Big Al has now swooped in and they had a joint press conference today. Ugh. I really hate this for the parents and friends, who will be swept along in this current and who at the end of the day will be left to deal with it the rest of their lives. The parents tragically without a son. The friends who will inevitably be blamed for it because of their race, even if they had nothing to do with it.

Meanwhile Crump and the Right Reverend will be on to the next press conference in another state, and getting paid handsomely to do it.

So let me get this straight. This civil rights attorney gets involved and sets up a go fund me to milk the public after creating a racial divide to ramp up donations. That's sad considering the mom had posted how (I'm paraphrasing from what I recall) his friends didn't see color, just a friend.
People like that lawyer make this worse and keep this racial division going. Yes there is racism still today but this kind of stuff keeps it alive longer. I guess there is always going to be a lawyer to find a way to profit in a bad way. Nothing against lawyers as I'm sure they know better than anyone on this board that there are many sleazy ones out there.

I have only read about this on this board and don’t have social media. If there was foul play, obviously I hope whoever did it is prosecuted. If there was not, and if the racial angle is purely based on different races interacting and a black teen dying, that sucks because it incentivizes parents to not let their kids hang out with kids of other races

Meanwhile, in Tupelo, a 19 year old black male shot dead in the street this week. No suspects. Where's the outrage? I just wish someone would ask Rev Al and Crump that question today. Why are you not in Tupelo to? Why just Senatobia and the Gulf Coast? But it won't get asked for fear of being labeled a racist.

It’s really bad. There is really nothing to indicate foul play. It can’t be ruled out, but the overwhelmingly likely situation is a tragic drowning. Now, not only do the kids have to deal with losing their friend and also likely some guilt from not making sure one of the drivers of the other boats knew he was taking him (really would have been Nolan’s responsibility anyway before declining a ride, but would have been better practice to know first hand one of the other boat captains knew he was with them), but they also have to deal with a bunch of low IQ people on the internet calling them murderers and wishing death threats on them just because they’re white.

There is one group of friends in our neighborhood that don’t overlap in age with any of ours where there is one black kid in a group of white kids. Great parents everybody likes and respects and Id think they wouldn’t sit by and be quiet while a bunch of people callled their kid’s lifelong friends racist murderers if tragedy happened. But obviously nobody would have expected that of the parents of Nolan wells or they wouldn’t have let yet their kids be friends with him to begin with. Just risk that I don’t think anybody was really considering before. Really unlikely risk, but just risk no loss should have to face.

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence the black kid in Tupelo didn’t have a $140,000+ Go Fund Me account. **

Based on information that’s been released you can just about completely rule out foul play.

That's what grinds my gears the most. If this had happened when the kid was hanging with a perdominately or entirely black crowd, these grifters would not even be aware that it had happened nor would they care.

If Nolan Wells had been shot at a "block party" by a black man with a ridiculously bad rap sheet in front of 100 witnesses . The silence at this point would be deafening . BUT he was last seen hanging out with some white folks and there is at this point absolutely no evidence of "foul play" yet it has become national news . Don't tell me race baiting is not an industry .

ETA: I would be a complete hypocrite if I said at this point that I wouldn't have the exact same questions Nolan's parents have because I would .

You don't have to couch your statements with stuff like this. I'd also bet modern day racism is WAY overinflated. Most normal people don't even think about racism, they have real life to worry about.

That is why I keep saying that I truly cannot believe there is a significant number of people out there that think these boys killed their friend. What twisted up world do they live in? They REALLY think these white kids were friends with this guy all their life just to conspire to kill him because, racism?? WTF

There is no money to be made off black on black killings dude. Nobody gives 2 17s about that. Or those parents that killed their little girl and soaked her in acid. No white devils involved. Culture rot. Its nationwide

That's the power of the mob. I think that GFE would have leveled out in a reasonable number, but there's no doubt in my mind the grifters like Crump got in there and showed them dollar signs, and then it exploded. The mom just posted yesterday that she's taking over the GFM at the request of her legal. They've got her.

They are protesting on the coast today, by the way. Total insanity.

ETA: This was posted right as I did so I'll just add it here instead of another post:

BINGO. Due to an overwhelming amount of stupid people that are now in this country, there is a defined economic market for this type chaos.

3 dipshit white boys conspired to murder their black friend in broad daylight with hundreds of witnesses present. Seems plausible. *
