Boohoo and I try so hard to make friends here. How will I ever survive?Unlike many, maybe most, on this board, I though you had some redeeming virtues. Won't make that mistake again.

I hope this staff doesn't throw game tickets at him, no second chances for stuff like that. The second I saw that I didn’t care. It’s not realistic to expect an entire team with Saquon’s class, but geez, how could you root for a knucklehead like that?
My issue with this isn’t that a 17 year old went elsewhere. It is that a player who received loving support from Campbell and the staff could turn around and disrespect us to that level of that hat toss just because Rhule shows up with a slightly bigger bag and guarantee to start day 1. Parents should have taught him better. Here is a snippet from a national recruiting analyst a month ago (there is a lot more):Very immature and low class move.
I personally would not love it if he reversed the order. I get he's 17, but respect the game, respect the process and respect the transfer portal. Coaches invest time and money to offer an opportunity. No harm in taking another opportunity, but why throw shade at those who believed in you. In this day and age of agents and personal advisors, I'd like to think an adult would have been present to advise on the value maintaining strong relationships. If Taylor threw a Husker hat and committed to PSU you would be in love with him. He's a 17 year old. Get over it.
Hmm. Antonio Logan El did a similar stunt with Ralph Friedgen when he was recruiting him to MD. Guess where he committed to…..PSU and Paterno. The event was nationally televised from the ESPN Zone in Baltimore and Friedgen’s wife was in attendance. It works both ways. They are high school kids.My issue with this isn’t that a 17 year old went elsewhere. I agree. Disrepectful bridge burning.Yeah if I am Penn State I don’t revisit this recruit even if he becomes available again or looking to flip. No need for the hat garbage, especially from a PA guy. Enjoy Nebraska
Not disappointed. Don't pursue him any further after that disrespectful stunt.Disappointing. WR is a big need going forward.
The difference is that in this situation the player recently expressed appreciation the coaching staff was helping him with a significant personal issue and showing him love and care the entire time. I don’t care if Khalil Taylor would come to happy Valley with $0 NIL ask at this point. I would not want him on this roster after that disrespect.Hmm. Logan-El picks Penn State over Terps
Antonio Logan-El, a heralded offensive line prospect who had verbally committed to play for the Terrapin football team, announced Tuesday at the ESPN Zone in Baltimore he would play for Penn State.dbknews.com
Not disappointed. Don't pursue him any further after that disrespectful stunt.
The difference? No difference. These kids form bonds with coaches from all different staffs. Someone is going home disappointed in every case. The terps were so convinced that Logan-El was announcing for MD (he was a previous silent commit) that Friedgen sent is wife to the nationally televised announcement to watch ALE diss MD, throw a MD hat on the floor and hold up a picture of Paterno. The only difference here is PSU is on the wrong end of the announcement. On a side note, Logan-El is considered one of PSU’s biggest busts ever. The difference is that in this situation the player recently expressed appreciation the coaching staff was helping him with a significant personal issue and showing him love and care the entire time. Fudge Him! He's dead to me.My issue with this isn’t that a 17 year old went elsewhere. That stunt lines up with the beginning of the PSU dark age! Just sayin…The difference? No difference. These kids form bonds with coaches from all different staffs. Its still not cool....regardless of which school he committed to.....Penn State or otherwise. Do you make a distinction??If Taylor threw a Husker hat and committed to PSU you would be in love with him. He's a 17 year old. Get over it.
Does Mr multiple handle man EVER miss an opportunity to offer a contrarion view on every thread? I m not referring to you of course Aplhalion75Its still not cool....regardless.
I thought he committed in 2006, after the highly successful 2005 season, which followed the dark age from 2000 to 2004?That stunt lines up with the beginning of the PSU dark age! Just sayin…
Have you watched the NFL or MLB? They are presumably "adults." We coached our players to show "class." But the reality is that things have changed. We don't have to like it. But, honestly, it isn't a good look for PSU fans to wring their collective hands over a kid's behavior. I recall not long ago that Julian Fleming spurned PSU and said some unflattering things about PSU. No one visited or got more love. A few years later his return prompted the player personnel experts here to spend an off season "coaching me up" and informing me that the #4 Ohio State WR would automatically be #1 here. How'd that turn out?I personally would not love it if he reversed the order. I get he's 17, but respect the game, respect the process and respect the transfer portal. Coaches invest time and money to offer an opportunity. No harm in taking another opportunity, but why throw shade at those who believed in you. It doesn't bother me in the least. Kids put 3 or 4 hats on the table and play games till they pick one up. I stopped watching the commitment videos a long time ago. I wonder why anyone watched this? For days we all knew where he was going. Its still not cool....regardless of which school he committed to.....Penn State or otherwise. Do you make a distinction??
"We" don't handle rejection well, LOLThis type of announcement isn’t new or unique. It’s been happening for decades. lol. The astonishment and vitriol from some is a little dramatic.
He will be crushed. I'll bet he never recovers.Fudge Him! He's dead to me.
You’re right. I got my years crossed. I believe the date function was broken in that article that was linked and I misread it as 1999.I thought he committed in 2006, after the highly successful 2005 season, which followed the dark age from 2000 to 2004?
LOL: I love that guy. No matter what he does it cracks me up. You Go Danny.

Someone with known mental health issues is not exactly someone who I would want on my team. A lot of time and resources may have to be spent on him just to keep him on a somewhat even keel. And then he just might do something really stupid or walk away after all the time and effort spent on him. He might be someone who just never works out.He was quoted coming out of his PSU visit how appreciative he was of our staff helping him with his mental health struggles and always checking in with him offering our support. The hat toss is disrespect. Some say he even verballed silently to Campbell during the visit . Eff him. He burned a bridge. Comes across as an ahole.
You’re making a big assumption that the people who disapprove of the disrespect toward PSU approve of it going the other way. Personally, I hate the sh9t either way and think less of whoever is doing it. I remember ALE leaving a sour taste in my mouth when he did that—as with a number of other PSU fans who remembered being on the receiving end of it with Kevin Jones. The difference is:
One kid said he was coming to PSU (Yeah! Future star, great kid)
One kid said he was going somewhere else (Boo! The Devil child, what a disgrace! Just looking for a big bag of money)
Good grief.
...."Remember, Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."It doesn't bother me in the least. The focus of a recruiting thread should be "how did we lose 3 top WR candidates?" Dean, Hall, and now Taylor.
I'm including Harrison because we need players like him to tilt a game in our favor for a change.
I understand it isn't over till it's over. But wishing and hoping for flips, isn't a sound strategy.

We just saw in real time a former player who transferred to another team, who is no longer with that team or even playing football, who appeared to have mental health issues. I think PSU had another DE within Franklin's term as coach who had mental health issues as well. There's probably more. Now we see a player who thanked PSU on social media for being sensitive to his own mental health issues, only to announce to another school and toss a PSU hat to the ground. How much money do you offer that player? Do mental health issues play a role in the offer? Absolutely. Do I think that Rhule's recruiting decisions are based on having a substantially different budget than PSU? No, I don't think Nebraska has a substantially different budget. Do I think Rhule might be making desperate recruiting decisions? Yes, I do.Someone with known mental health issues is not exactly someone who I would want on my team. The good news is this staff has a track record of bringing in great receivers, no matter how many stars the recruiting services doted on them. Check Campbell’s NFL receivers—they know what they want and they’ll get it.We just saw in real time a former player who transferred to another team, who is no longer with that team or even playing football, who appeared to have mental health issues. That being said, PSU quickly needs to find a WR recruit with potential.
