I think its more to do with McConnell being the chairman of the committee for rules and administration rather than anything related to Massie who just got pounded in his reelection attempt. McConnells handlers have orchestrated the throttling of a lot of stuff Trump wants on the committee level and they do not want that jeopardized imo.

If Mitch McConnell dies before August 3, Kentucky law would trigger a special election for his Senate seat.

The RINOs in power can’t afford for that to happen, which is why this whole situation feels like Weekend at Bernie’s.

Weeks have gone by with virtually no meaningful update on the condition of a sitting U.S. Senator. The lack of transparency has been outrageous and has left people wondering whether he’s being kept alive on life support or whether the full truth simply isn’t being told… has he already passed???

Then there’s Elaine Chao, McConnell’s wife, traveling to China to meet with a CCP leader just days after McConnell was hospitalized. Maybe there’s an explanation, but the timing is undeniably odd. Would you leave your husband to travel to China if he is so ill he’s in the hospital for over 20 days? I sure wouldn’t.

Something about this entire situation doesn’t add up, and the American people deserve answers.

@McConnellPress WE NEED PROOF OF LIFE!

And tens of millions of people were eager to vote Biden in for another four-year term, at the end of which he would have been 86.
Look who he was running against. The people who were "eager" would have voted for pretty much anyone not who he ran against.

I used quotes around eager, because, I mean, not many of us really wanted Joe either.

THIS ^^^^. This is exactly what I am wondering. Why is Elaine Chao traveling to China when her husband is (from all we can tell) in such critical condition? It makes no sense to me, but the picture it paints is incredibly bad. It gives the appearance that she needs to report in to Chinese officials and get further instructiions.

If Ol' Turtlehead is on a ventilator or other form of life support, it boggles that mind that they would be trying to hide it.
At best because KY requires the spouse to agree to brain death for a special election.
At worse because she panicked knowing she no longer had a cover or protection.

They gonna try to Weekend at Bernies the ol' b.astard I think.

what the **** is going on with Glitch McConnell?

is he like, y’know ... dead?

exactly how much do Republicans totally f.ucking suck?

here’s how much: they’re playing fast and loose with the health status of a sitting Senator, just to game the system for political advantage.

three weeks ago, Mitch McConnell was rushed to the hospital. We the People were never officially told why — and, since then, we haven’t been told s.hit about his prognosis.

is he getting better? is he getting worse? has he already shuffled off to that Great Terrarium in the Sky?

this whole story has stunk out loud since the beginning.

not since Preznit F.uckwit’s Miracle Ear-Nicking™ have we been keep this much in the dark about a major politico’s medical situation. all we know for sure is that on Sunday, June 14th, ‘Senator McConnell was admitted to the hospital this morning. he is receiving excellent care.’

Julie Tsirkin@news_jul
Statement from Senator McConnell spox, David Popp: “Senator McConnell was admitted to the hospital this morning. He is receiving excellent care.”

anyone who wanted additional information was cordially invited to go f.uck themself.

what the hell? Mitch McConnell is 84 years old. he’s in the s.hittiest of health, he’s glitched up and frozen in public numerous times, and he’d already been hospitalized last February for ‘flu-like symptoms.’ and now he’s been hospitalized again, and no one is saying s.hit about his condition? and they’re getting away with it?

perfectly normal stuff, am I right?

and then, four days ago, we get this big hunking slice of Holy **** Pie.

Paramedics in Washington D.C. found an “unconscious” person in U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)’s home on June 14, according to reports of the 911 call.
In the audio, a dispatcher says the person had experienced “cardiac arrest.” A paramedic can then be heard saying, “CPR in progress.”
While McConnell’s name isn’t mentioned, the address that paramedics responded to is known to be the 84-year-old senator’s address.
wait a minute, wait a minute — what the **** is going on? ‘someone’ — they never say whowas already unconscious and in cardiac arrest and received CPR at Mitch McConnell’s house on the same morning McConnell was rushed to the hospital? and McConnell’s people still won’t say s.hit about his condition?

In a new statement Thursday afternoon, a spokesperson confirmed McConnell remains in the hospital after more than two weeks.
“[He] appreciates the outpouring of support he’s receiving while he continues his recovery,” the statement continued. “The Senator continues to improve, and is working closely with his staff on Kentucky and Senate matters while the Senate is out of session.”
f.uck you. prove that ‘the Senator continues to improve.’ show us photos. prove to us that Mitch McConnell isn’t pining for the fjords.

how is this not a scandal? why are McConnell’s people being allowed to no-comment their way out of what should be a major story? an 84-year-old, unconscious and in cardiac arrest, doesn’t just bounce back from the kind of vigorous CPR that would be needed to revive them.

how are the worthless scribblers of the corporate-controlled media not asking a million questions about this?

in the absence of facts, all we have is speculation. so let’s take that speculation to the darkest place possible: what if Mitch McConnell is already dead, and his handlers are keeping it a secret?

here’s where it gets super f.ucking ghoulish — because if Old Glitch is not just merely dead, but really most sincerely dead, Republicans have ample reason for keeping that fact hidden.

There are at least two reason they might not want to update us on McConnell’s condition:
-In Kentucky, a special election to replace a Senator will NOT be called if it’s closer than 3 months till the next election.
-That date is August 3rd.
apparently, the thinking goes, Republicans hate Thomas Massie so much that they’re perpetrating a massive cover-up just so he can’t run in the special election that would be called if McConnell’s death (or resignation due to incapacitation) were announced prior to August 3rd.

Republicans may be running out the clock on disclosing whether McConnell is even alive, purely so a filing deadline slides past and Thomas Massie can't grab the seat. A man's actual mortality reduced to a procedural loophole for gatekeeping power.
yes, that’s how much Republicans totally f.ucking suck.

now, consider this: how deliciously ironic would it be if the shitweasel who politicized the deaths of Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and exploited those deaths for his own party’s advantage, ended up having his own corpse being used as a political pawn?

and on that note, let’s give the final word to Bluesky user Ian Boudreau, who wins the entire internet with this comment.

“he died doing what he loved best.”

he did, didn’t he?

not certain you're right about this....but both trump and Biden are too old. And somebody already posted a listing of all the members of the House and Senate who are also too old...beginning with the senator from Iowa
🤷‍♂️

not sure why you're SMH...you agree with the statement that Trump is 6'3'' and weighs 224, it that he passed his cognitive test...

or you disagree with the statement that Trump and Biden are to old, that someone posted a listing, or that the senator from Iowa, who is older than both trump and Biden, is also to old??

and why do you think republicans are (allegedly) orchestrating this to prevent him from running/being the nominee in the special election?
I don't know their ultimate motivation, but that could certainly be one of the possibilities. Read above, I think it's total horsesh!t what they are doing. Should never be allowed to happen.

no...why do you think they are doing that?

massie is a good conservative legislator...that's why you like him, yes? so...why would trump aligned leaders not want a guy like that as a senator?

Because he was a thorn in their side and didn't toe the party line like democrats did. He is kind of like a Manchin.

I don't need to remind you how well Democrats stick together on their votes do I? This is not something new to politics.

The Democrats had years, YEARS to release the files. Shame on them for not doing so. Shame on them for covering it up. Trump has released more on the files than dems ever did.

and yet...even with strong conservative principles/voting record - all a guy has to do is be in public support of releasing everything and you're automatically unaccpetable to trump

yeah...seems legit

So close, but so far.
The democrats were so close, but so far. Maybe next time when they are in power they can pick up where they left off.

I'm on team release the files, but Democrats have no room to yap on this. They had years upon years and they did nothing. Imagine if there is damaging info in there and they did.nothing.about.it.

A. Imagine releasing evidence during an ongoing court case...

B. Now imagine running for president with releasing the files as a tent pole promise. Then getting elected and having your people read the evidence then you have the DOJ say there is nothing to see here and the investigation is over and still not releasing the files. The Congress passes a law saying you have to release all the files by X date, missing that date, and then only releasing half the files.

Now B. sounds more suspicious to me than A. How about you?

democrats want the files released because they are sure the information will lead to Trump....and it well might. But if it does, they have nobody to blame but themselves. Their DoJ had all the data, they just didn't do anything with it. And all this about investigations, give me a break, Washington DC and the DoJ are like sieves. Somebody would have leaked something
