I know I'll get pushback - likely from both sides of this argument. but here's my opinion...First of all, no matter what anybody says, Temporary means temporary...and it should have been explained and made clear to anyone who came to the US under this program. Now, having said that, the ending of the program for selected groups should be just that selective. Do we need to deport everyone here under TPS? IMO, NO : there are people here who contribute to our society, who have American born children, and are assets to the US. But how do you break out those from the rest? I Don't know.

But the problem with TPS is that it has become a Democrat vs republican issue...democrats support it so republicans have to be against it...which is insane...just as programs republicans are for, democrats have to be against, just as insane.

It's crazy!!!

In a normal society, someone would stand in front of many others with the same belief and say "we need to come up with a program that will allow those here under TPS to apply for permanent residency and no one should be deported while there case is being decided". But that would require compromise....and we're way short of that trait these days.
My only argument is that people looking for political asylum are supposed to seek refuge in the first country they enter. Instead they travel through Central America and Mexico to get the USA where they can receive more welfare benefits and job opportunities. No bueno!

Says the magaloon who believes the words that come out of Trump's mouth.

You're in a cult.
You're just ignorant. Haitians still do animal sacrifices. It is literally part of their Voodoo culture. It's real. Look it up. It's been part of their culture since the 16th century when Haiti was known as Saint-Domingue. It was literally, part of their religion. It's still practiced to this very day.

In Madagascar, felines are still part of the menu, as are dogs in Asian countries.

You're all over the place. First you quote a statistic from one county then you quote something else nationally. It's amazing how you believe wealthy business owners who employe people are screwing the country over while immigrants with low skill/education are lifting the country up.
  • Of households headed by non-citizens, 47 percent use one or more traditional welfare programs, 19 percentage points higher than the 28 percent for U.S.-born households. The non-citizen rate rises to 57 percent when eligibility for the EITC or ACTC is added, compared to 34 percent for the U.S.-born.
I'm not criticizing the majority of these people. I'd want to come here too if I was living in a crappy country. My position is that it should be limited and at our discretion. Maybe even provide a pathway to citizenship for a limited number of people. The T in TPS stands for temporary. I's like temporary enhanced covid subsidies. The key word is temporary.
I dare you to ask him regarding the welfare situation in NYC. 47% are on Medicaid. 3 out of 5 NYC residents receive state sponsored healthcare. Yeah, that model works so well. No wonder NYC is billions of dollars in debt. NYC is $98.2 BILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT!

Not all of them did. Some traveled directly by sea and others flew here direct on temporary visas, later applying for TPS when conditions in Haiti deteriorated.

No oneβ€˜s mad at the migrants and we feel sorry for them. However, it was terrible democrat policy to allow it to get this way. We are mad at the policy.

This was the correct decision legally and morally.

Title 42 was a court order under Trump

Foxnews and the right wing media has done a number on that generation. They really do think anyone that isn't conservative IS a monolith in evil belief. They created generations of people who have hated and villainized anyone that isn't a conservative and put them in these rigid boxes.

It's honestly intellectually stupid and ridiculous, but they are so so conditioned for it.

Exactly, they think we all practice Santeria and drink adrenochrome when in reality we have a wide range of beliefs from extremely devout to atheist across many religions. But for me, no matter what I believe, you will never see me mock or disparage someone else's religious beliefs because it's deeply personal and I respect them no matter what, as long as they don't use their beliefs to enact legislation. That's where I draw the line.

Let's see Growls, the initial wave of Haitian immigrants to Springfield began under Trump(2018-2020) with the peak influx coming around 2021 after the country's President was assasinated and heavily armed gangs seized control, which led to the complete collapse of civil society as gangs cut off the distribution of food, fuel and medical aid. On top of that, they were hit with a massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake that leveled entire towns followed by deadly tropical storms.

These are not invaders as they are here legally under TPS that explicitly allows them to live without fear of deportation and granted them legal permits to work and pay taxes. And the Republican governor of Ohio has welcomed them with open arms because Springfield faced severe labor shortages in it's manufacturing and warehousing sectors post-Covid.

Sending them home to their deaths does not save America, because this is the America we've always been until Trump. The only consequences will be to your hateful soul as you cheer returning them to a catastrophic situation where 90% of the country is controlled by gangs and there are no homes to return to.

What an ******* you are.
How are they going to die in the home country???

Stephen Miller: β€œAmerica’s doors are fully closed to asylum seekers… If you want asylum, we’ll find another country to take you.”

Since October 2025, 4,499 refugees have been resettled in the U.S., according to the Refugee Processing Center. All but three, who were from Afghanistan, were South African.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reports the Trump administration has prepared a welcome package for future white South African refugees arriving in the U.S. that includes an Android tablet, an American flag, copies of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, and Trump-approved literature promoting a version of American and South African history that criticizes racial equity and civil rights laws while promoting claims of discrimination against white people.

It doesn’t get more racist than this. Refugees are welcome as long as they’re white."

Good analysis.

The funniest part of this whole anti-Trump lawfare shitshow is that these arrogant ***** actually thought every lawsuit was a ******* leash they could slap on him.

Sue the order. Shop it to some activist blue-state judge. Get your ******** injunction. Run to the cameras screaming β€œdemocracy is saved.” Then do it all over again like the smug little parasites they are.

They really believed they’d invented the perfect legal shock collar for an elected President. Just keep filing emergency motions and watch him twitch every time a federal judge snaps the leash.

Then the cases started climbing.

And now every single one of those lawsuits they filed to trap him is turning into the ******* highway straight to the Supreme Court. That’s the boomerang, you dumb bastards. Once SCOTUS answers the question, it stops being one temporary Trump order. It becomes permanent precedent that the next Democrat president can’t just wave away.

That’s why the media is suddenly pissing themselves about an β€œunshackled presidency.” What they really mean is the courts finally told the activist lawyers, the NGOs, and the resistance judges to shut the **** up and stop vetoing immigration enforcement from the bench like they own the country.

Temporary Protected Status? Turns out β€œtemporary” actually means it ends, you dishonest pricks. β€œArrived” in the United States? Turns out you have to actually cross the ******* border.

Democrats tried to turn lawfare into a kill switch for Trump’s entire agenda.

Instead they may have spent years forging unbreakable legal armor around it.

Every emergency lawsuit they file now risks becoming another Supreme Court ruling that locks their ******** in. Every injunction they celebrate is just setting up the next brick in the wall. They tried to shackle him with the courts.

The courts might end up handing him the bolt cutters.

Lawfare was supposed to stop Trump.

It may have just made him a hell of a lot harder to stop.

one thing that has not been discussed in this whole TPS debate is the reaction by some Democrat leaders, especially Mamdani.. He "won't accept" the supreme court decision.

As a nation of laws, isn't that somewhat of an obstructionist position. I know that when Trump does something counter to, or apparently counter to the constitution or the law, we come unglued. Isn't that what Mamdani is doing?

I read that NYC's spending is more than many European countries. They spend more than the whole state of Florida even though Florida has 2.7x more people.

Nearly 40% of NYC residents weren't born in this country.
Nearly 60% of NYC residents are on Medicaid.

True but total deflection on your part
As for the others, many of them did traverse through the Darien Gap and may have asked for asylum in Central American countries, but remember that the largest influx came here in 2021 when Covid led to severe food insecurity, job losses and violence. Also the two hurricanes severely damaged the Northern Triangle countries, so it's understandable why they came here.

They came in 2021 because they knew biden would welcome them with open arms. It was fully coordinated via leftist NGOs who used tax payer money to facilitate travel and education on how to maximize how much welfare they could take from the system.

PER YOUR SOURCES DERPSTER

The Biden administration had direct involvement in managing, detaining, and ultimately deporting or releasing the thousands of Haitian migrants who arrived at the U.S. border in September 2021. [1, 2]

The Del Rio Border Crisis

In September 2021, a sudden surge of roughly 15,000 predominantly Haitian migrants crossed the Rio Grande and set up a makeshift camp under an international bridge in Del Rio, Texas. [1, 2]

The Biden administration responded with a multi-pronged containment strategy: [1, 2, 3]
  • Mass Expulsions: The administration heavily relied on Title 42, a Trump-era public health policy, to swiftly deport thousands of Haitians back to Haiti without allowing them to request asylum. By early 2022, the administration had flown over 20,000 migrants back to Haiti. [1, 2, 3]
  • Mass Releases: Because the administration lacked the operational capacity to deport everyone, several thousand Haitian migrants (particularly families) were released into the U.S. interior with notices to appear in immigration court. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Border Patrol Controversy: The crisis drew intense national scrutiny after images surfaced showing mounted U.S. Border Patrol agents using horse reins aggressively to push back Haitian migrants. President Biden publicly condemned the actions as "horrific" and stated, "I take responsibility. I'm president." [1, 2, 3]

Protected Status for Existing Residents

Compounding the confusion at the time, the Biden administration had actually expanded Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians in August 2021 following the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel MoΓ―se. However, this legal protection only applied to Haitians who were already inside the U.S. before July 29, 2021. The thousands who arrived at the border in September 2021 did not qualify for TPS and faced immediate expulsion.

"Democrats are literally admitting that the people from Haiti in America shouldn’t even be qualified for the Haitian Temporary Program Status

β€œSome of the Haitian nationals that have TPS, they have children that were born in Chile, they have children that were born in Brazil, they have children that were born in different countries, and they have children that were born in the United States. So when we're talking about separation, the separation is far more complicated than people are even speaking of”

Without realizing it, she just told you some of the game β€” that a lot of these individuals that are here under this Temporary Protected Status were already safely settled in another country. That's why they're having children who were born in other countries. And when Biden opened up the border, they all came here and then discarded those. Many of these people were shopping around countries, and when Joe Biden opened up the border, they surged the border”

I’ve also made posts on this, The temporary protective status for Haitians in the United States was meant for the victims of the earthquake in 2010, the majority of the Haitians being protected from deportation under this order arrived under the Biden Admin, NOT the earthquake

Original temporary protective status from the 2010 earthquake era started with roughly 50,000 beneficiaries

The current Haitian temporary protective status holders is approximately 350,000

This is NOT what the original program was meant for

Send them ALL back"

Are we upset that some of the invited need healthcare or food assistance even though they're paying for them with their taxes?

Yes, because that math doesn't work,.. Tax dollars received fall well short of welfare dollars expended.

If less than 30% of them are on Medicare or need food assistance but 100% of them are paying payroll taxes, sales taxes, income taxes and property taxes the math works fine, especially considering they were recruited there by a Republican governor who needs them to staff jobs that were going unfilled. It needs to be acknowledged that the benefits outweigh the cost because these aren't freeloaders who came to mooch off the government, they are staffing important warehouse and factory jobs.
