I know I'll get pushback - likely from both sides of this argument. but here's my opinion...First of all, no matter what anybody says, Temporary means temporary...and it should have been explained and made clear to anyone who came to the US under this program. Now, having said that, the ending of the program for selected groups should be just that selective. Do we need to deport everyone here under TPS? IMO, NO : there are people here who contribute to our society, who have American born children, and are assets to the US. But how do you break out those from the rest? I Don't know.

But the problem with TPS is that it has become a Democrat vs republican issue...democrats support it so republicans have to be against it...which is insane...just as programs republicans are for, democrats have to be against, just as insane.

It's crazy!!!

In a normal society, someone would stand in front of many others with the same belief and say "we need to come up with a program that will allow those here under TPS to apply for permanent residency and no one should be deported while there case is being decided". But that would require compromise....and we're way short of that trait these days.

I think it’s a reaction to the failed policies of democrats. We all saw the videos and pictures of the borders wide open. When you see failure at that level, I think the reaction was the polar opposite. Extremism is met with extremism.

Look at my post history for the beginning. No one has called for NO immigration. We want controlled immigration that benefits the citizens of the USA.

Republicans are overreacting because they believe, based on recent history, that democrats will leave the border wire open if they regain power.

I do wish we could find a compromise and it’s disappointing that with all the technology this country has we can’t do better. Blame lies at the feet of both parties.

The truth of the matter is that "Republicans are overreacting because they believe, based on recent history, that democrats will leave the border wire open if they regain power" is actually the entire issue. The border was never open, and the cherry picked "videos" of wide open borders were used to whip Maga up into a frenzy, or in your words, to overreaction.

The numbers don't lie- the amount of "excess illegal immigration" that happened during the Biden years AND have been reported factually are marginally and nominally more at best.

The type of overreaction is why Trump won again, but thats due to messaging and not reality.

No dpic. We arent going to be abused to make libs and commies happy. Saving America in its constitutional form is the only option. We refuse to be overrun by foreign invaders posing as refugees. Actions have consequences and the chickens have come home to roost. Its going to get a lot worse for the open borders crowd before it gets better.
Let's see Growls, the initial wave of Haitian immigrants to Springfield began under Trump(2018-2020) with the peak influx coming around 2021 after the country's President was assasinated and heavily armed gangs seized control, which led to the complete collapse of civil society as gangs cut off the distribution of food, fuel and medical aid. On top of that, they were hit with a massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake that leveled entire towns followed by deadly tropical storms.

These are not invaders as they are here legally under TPS that explicitly allows them to live without fear of deportation and granted them legal permits to work and pay taxes. And the Republican governor of Ohio has welcomed them with open arms because Springfield faced severe labor shortages in it's manufacturing and warehousing sectors post-Covid.

Sending them home to their deaths does not save America, because this is the America we've always been until Trump. The only consequences will be to your hateful soul as you cheer returning them to a catastrophic situation where 90% of the country is controlled by gangs and there are no homes to return to.

What an ******* you are.

the problem is, depending on next steps trump admin takes, they might be here legally much longer.

you know my opinion from my post above.

The previous administration did not enforce the rules correctly?

That jives with my post above, we aren’t mad at the people themselves, we are mad at the people who didn’t do their jobs.

Don’t know where you are getting the previous administration thing from. The TPS program was passed in 1990 (Bush I) and Haitians have been admitted under the program since 2010 - through the Obama, Trump I and Biden Admins.

And several posters in this thread aren’t mad at the people who didn’t do their jobs - they have been downright gleeful at deporting people who complied with the rules.

It sure as hell does. I guess Trump was right all along about Haiti, huh?
This makes no sense. They were here legally, the governor of Ohio welcomed and needed them, they are productive and there's nothing for them to return to. Damn you magas are some hateful fvkking creatures who have lost your souls. Let's just be honest here - your racism supercedes your humanity. It's clear as day.

They were given a temporary* approval. Temporary is over. They're going home to enrich Haiti now. You can go in the corner and cry about it though. Donald Trump is legally and morally justified in these efforts.

The cats, geese and dogs of Springfield, Ohio are celebrating today!

Temporary means until living conditions in their home countries are bearable for them to return to. It's worse than ever right now so there's nothing "moral" about this at all. You just hate them so you don't care what happens to them. That's sick Scrubber, sick.

Wrong, they had until February 3rd, 2026. It was quite literally spelled out :) now take your L and go cry in the corner. Maybe ask yourself why sleepy joe and kamala coconut hate these migrants so much. It was their administration who set the date ;)

I'm sure things will get better for Haiti with a couple hundred thousand of their bright and enriching citizens being returned. The cats and geese of Haiti aren't in for a good time obviously, but hey, that's just their culture.

It hasn't resolved - it's worse.

"Under the law, the core condition required to return immigrants is a formal determination by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that the country's temporary crisis has resolved enough to allow citizens to safely return home."

GOOD GUY TRUMP!! Still willing to give each of the 300,000 Hatians 2,600 bucks to leave on their own and not force ICE to get them. They should take the offer and leave today.

Some may wonder why Haitians first... then perhaps Somalis...

Because enforcement is being sequenced through the path of least political and legal resistance...

Begin with populations backed by smaller political coalitions... establish executive authority... survive the court challenge... create precedent... then carry that authority outward...

Today’s Supreme Court ruling allows the administration to terminate Temporary Protected Status for Haitians and Syrians, while sharply limiting judicial review of those decisions...

That is the real breakthrough...

Somalia is already in the same pipeline... DHS moved to terminate Somali TPS, but a federal judge paused the action...

Today’s ruling does not automatically decide that case... yet the legal ground beneath the injunction just shifted...

This is larger than one nationality...

Build the lawful removal architecture one case at a time... narrow the courts’ ability to obstruct it... then scale enforcement across every temporary program that became functionally permanent...

Temporary means temporary... and precedent becomes the machine...

Once codified into law, the rest will follow...

No oneβ€˜s mad at the migrants and we feel sorry for them. However, it was terrible democrat policy to allow it to get this way. We are mad at the policy.

This was the correct decision legally and morally.
Oh, there are plenty who are fapping to the idea of black and brown people suffering, but I get your overall point. Thus, in principle, I agree with you.

The primary purpose of the federal government is to uphold the Constitution and provide protection and security of our sovereign nation. An important part of protection and security is ensuring we have strong borders and are heavily scrutinizing anyone trying to gain entrance into the United States. So, again, in principle, I agree with the SCOTUS decision.

However…

I also think we should be judicious in how we go about deporting people once here legally under TPS. Yes, I get what β€œtemporary” is intended to mean, it’s still ambiguous language in terms of specific time frames, so I personally believe it only makes sense to be judicious in determining if some people merit the opportunity to gain citizenship who, again, were here legally under TPS.

Look at it as a type of grandfather clause. For those people who have been contributing positively to society by working, paying taxes, and being in general decent human beings, I would hope they would be given a pathway to citizenship. Do I understand given our political climate that is unlikely to happen? Yes. Do I believe many people are happy with this decision because it appeals to their conservative beliefs AND inherent racism? Yes. Do I believe the SCOTUS decision was still correct from a Constitutional standpoint ? Yes.

My point still stands.

OP, SCOTUS didn't give you the win you think they gave you and Trump. They simply interpreted the law and said Trump was following the law. The next POTUS can do what Biden did, and to some extent Obama with his DREAM EO, and ignore the law. In fact Trump has ignored many laws himself.
The pendulum always swings.

Newton’s III Law will be proven correct yet again.

Too bad, so sad. The Hatians are all going back to Haiti and the business owner will need to pay living wages to american workers instead of enriching themselves off cheap serf labor imported from the 3rd world.

"🚨 let me tell you what "the courts cannot stop it" means when SCOTUS says it.. because I'm sure most people don't know..

it means the Ninth Circuit is done..

for years the Ninth Circuit blocked every TPS termination.. every metering policy.. every turnback order.. judges in San Francisco and D.C. issued injunctions the same week DHS tried to enforce anything..

that was the strategy.. not the law.. the injunctions..

on June 25, 2026.. SCOTUS ruled 6-3 in two separate cases.. same day.. same margin.. both times..

case one: federal courts generally cannot review TPS termination decisions.. Kristi Noem's calls are now shielded.. no more injunction shopping..

case two: if you're standing in Mexico you have not "arrived in the United States" under federal law.. no right to apply for asylum.. no mandatory inspection.. no foothold..

and here's what nobody wants to say out loud..

350,000 Haitian TPS holders are now in deportation proceedings with no court able to pause it.. every asylum seeker at every port of entry along 2,000 miles of border is now legally turnable before they take one step onto US soil..

the metering policy was blocked for nearly a decade.. it's back today with Supreme Court backing..

this is the same playbook that ended in 1954 when the court finally gave the executive branch back its immigration authority.. and it took 30 years of litigation to get there..

"the courts cannot stop it" doesn't mean Trump won a policy fight.. it means the legal infrastructure the other side built to slow enforcement for years just got ruled unconstitutional..

two rulings.. one day.. zero injunctions left standing.

I'll share more updates shortly. Turn on notifications, this is very important."

The deportations are just getting started. 10,000 new ICE agents need work to do :)

The things you fap to are weird.

You are reverting back to hateful trolling. You may think you’re being clever, but you really are not. There’s agreeing with a policy despite how it will adversely affect others and then there’s being elated by other people’s misery and gloating about it.

You love to paint with a broad brush. Again, while you may think you’re being cute and clever, you really are not. And you may think you have a clever facade and shtick to cover up your bigoted heart and soul toward certain minority groups, but rest assured, you lack sophistication as much as you do common decency.

Regardless, this is where our conversations end. Again, you are reverting back to hateful trolling, so I am going to return to not engaging you and ignoring everything you post. It’s just boring, and I have no interest in validating hateful people. Take care, my friend. I hope someday you change your heart and repent.

In my heart, I agree with you.

But I can’t look at how the border was left wide open and how millions of people just walked right on over and justify that either. Especially when democrats were gaslighting and saying it β€œcan’t be stopped.” They were lying.

There must be accountability and amnesty holds no one accountable. It will just happen again the second a democrat gets elected.

Give us guarantees these people never vote (voter id). Give us guarantees this never happens again. Pass some guidelines we can all agree on.

And then we can talk about letting people stay.

But I am firmly opposed to rewarding incompetence, and that democrat handling of the border was nothing short of incompetent. All they said was that it couldn’t be stopped yet Trump stopped it in a matter of months. To me thats incompetence.

The left was lying the whole time, and they even attempted to codify the open border into law with that garbage legislation they tried cramming in right before biden got kicked out of office (they tried to gaslight us and say trump was the reason for mass border crossings then too). The dems have been exploiting immigration in an obvious attempt at capturing political power for years (pre biden as well). That's all any of this was ever about. The people at the top don't care about these people in the slightest, they only care about using them as a source of political leverage.

hasn't that determination been made? DHS announced the termination and that's what led to the lawsuit....

DPIC, I understand your "morality" argument, but don't conflate it with legal. There might well be a determination by this administration shortly, if I believe Stephen Miller, which might make the residence in the US illegal.

So, at least IMO, the decision should no longer be on the legality...that's been determined by the supreme court...

I know I'd hate to be someone who legally came to the US 20 years ago, built a home and family, and now has been told I have to go back to a country and start my life again. The other side of that argument is that these folks should have understood that the situation here was temporary...sending every single one back to Haiti, somalia, Syria is likely not a good idea, however.

None of those things can ever be guaranteed. Just as it can’t be guaranteed the next Democratic president won’t follow the same Trump playbook. This horse is out of the barn and never coming back. We, as a people, have become so tribal we have lost our minds as much as we have our souls.

That’s the cost of fidelity to tribe and feelings over the Constitution of the United States. And, yes, this particular SCOTUS decision is correct, and liberal tribalism paved the way for a lot of the very things you are describing, but in general the Team MAGA response to liberal tribalism and failures is just perpetuating the problem, and at times is also guilty of violating the Constitution or unscrupulously trying to circumvent it under the justification that Team Blue deserves it.

While all true, the problem persists. And while true we are very much still a great nation, the principles and values that have been the glue that have kept us great are being undermined at an alarming rate. If we continue down this path, and we undoubtedly will, the future of our nation is as much in peril as its very soul.

Both sidesβ€”MAGA and Team Blueβ€”really need to pause and re-evaluate.
