Blast from the past Alex Poythress recruitment

Oh, OK. It wasn’t an app, it was a “text machine.”

The head coach of the most visible program in college basketball, a multimillionaire in the middle of recruiting Alex Poythress, stopped what he was doing to sell recruiting updates through a “text machine” to a random fan he just met in a high school gym.

The story somehow got even more believable after the correction.

Never stop laughing at the joke that they are.
Sorry this upset you. A refund has been issued.

Actually I believe I misspoke. Don’t believe it was an app but a text machine or something like that. Maybe if I feel like it I will Google it. But maybe not, you only seem interested in a tantrum so best not feed it.
You’re not really helping yourself here. I’m not even sure what you mean by the “text machine” claim …but it sounds even sillier than the ridiculous monthly subscriber recruiting app version.

Your post went off the believability rails when you got to the Cal part. A teller of tall tales needs to know where that line is.

You don’t upset me any more than a flat-earther does. I’m just fascinated by the confidence it takes to tell a story with such ridiculous claims that changes when someone asks a basic question.

First it was an app. Then it became a “text machine.” No telling what it will be next when you realize Cal selling recruing information through texts is just as ridiculous as the first lie.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense is embarrassed for you.

Okay bud. Story stayed the same. But if some small detail from 15yr ago is foggy than so be it. It’s obviously causing you some distress. Try to get some rest and not let it affect you too much. You’re getting a refund after all.

Good Lord! I’m so confused! Wtf is going on in this thread?! Lmao
I think it’s pretty simple what’s going on. The OP obviously made up the ridiculously implausible tale about Cal trying to peddle him his recruiting app (especially considering that no such app existed). And someone called him out on it.

I do think it’s funny that 17 people liked that post. Shows how gullible we can be.

I’ve just read parts of the thread. Idk if I even read the last paragraph of his OP until just now. Anyway, what a “text machine”?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Or I told a story off the top of my head from a decade and half ago and may have been fuzzy on a pretty small detail. Looked it up and it seems there was some sorta of service like that offered by Cal in conjunction with UK Athletics during that time. Maybe I conflated a off the cuff comment from Cal as him selling it versus promoting it... but either way, I dont care enough to argue about it. The post was free for you to enjoy and discuss or free for you to ignore. My life isn't effected in any way. Have a good day.

Well, if you “looked it up”, then obviously you saw a link. Could you provide that link so we can see what the heck “service” you’re talking about?

Because the version(s) of that story you’ve told so far make no plausible sense at all.

Or, since you’re far more concerned than I, you can do it yourself. I really don’t care either way.

I can’t do it myself, because I suspect it doesn’t exist. But you’re the one who claimed you just looked it up, so you should be able to easily link it. So let’s see it.

You can ask ChatGtp about CoachCal.com. It will let you know all about how you could sign up and received text alerts, via a text machine, and voicemails talking about recruiting and other basic crap. Pretty sure thats what I was refering to. Again, I told this decade and a half old story from memory and if some small details are off then so be it.

Going forward, you are the one making the accusations, and if you want to invest your time to prove some point then by all means have at it. I'm not above being corrected and maybe it strikes up an interesting conversation. But until then... have a good one.

Oh so now he tried to sell you his app/text machine/completely free CoachCal.com that doesn’t have subscriptions and doesn’t track recruiting for a monthly charge? It’s finally starting to make sense.

Pro tip: Watch all the other habitual liars and do what they do, make vague accusations. You can never use specifics when lying. See how quickly you got exposed. Cite “the reports” and say stuff like everyone knows it. Whatever you do, stay away from specifics.

And later on it was moving towards a paid subscription site. Common knowledge.

I’m kidding. I’m just trying to get BruiserFlint22 fired up.
That’s what you have to do when you can’t defend the obvious lie.

Maybe Cal was selling subscriptions to his app… text machine… or the free CoachCal.com that doesn’t have subscriptions to make back to school money for Brad who would have been entering high school around that time.

Never stop laughing at the joke they are.

No sir. It was just a joke but I knew it would get you riled up because you’re an absolute nutjob. Get some self awareness.

Something is a joke, but it’s not that corny line. Nutjobs habitually make up lies like Cal tried to sell me his recruiting app.

Never stop laughing at the joke that they are.
