MauriciO for 4 looks like a clown on breaking balls. A very long looping swing that will hit a tee ball fastball 450 feet to wow you with potential.

Agree with above and hope Baty is gone after this year.
Stearns can't take the heat with the focus being more intense with Mendy gone. So, you instruct the security to harass anyone who mocks you.
The thing with Baty is that last year, when he knew, he goes to the game and either he is starting at 2B or starting at 3B every day - he had a pretty good year. This year, he could be 1B, RF, 3B or not playing.
He is the perfect example of needing a change.
You watch- if we were to trade him- some team like Minn or KC picks him up- puts him in one spot each day and we end up seeing him in the AS game...lol

As a kid, I remember going to a Mets vs Houston double header where the Mets won both games 1-0. Pitchers Gary Gentry in game 1 and Jerry Koosman in game 2 drove in the runs.
Any chance we could trade for this guy at the deadline? Looks like someone who'd fit right in.

I know that was tongue in cheek, but it prompted me to look it up. Alonso has a partial no-trade contract. Every year, he can name eight teams to which he can refuse a trade. Wonder if the Mets are on the list?
Ehhhh- one thing I have a hard thing to do is bust or find a way to bust one the one single current player that comes to play every single day and has been elite in the field as well as near MVP level for us for years.

It is unfair to expect people to be anything other than who they are. That is true of Mauricio. He is an undisciplined free swinger who is easily fooled. He lacks the ability to zero in on a specific pitch in a specific zone, and to take the pitch if he doesn't get it.
You want him to take a strike in that situation? Then tell him to. Andy Green didn't. It's on him.

Yes we will notice, because his replacement at 2B is worse.
Luis Robert is beginning his rehab assignment. When he is ready, maybe install him in CF and move Ewing temporarily to 2B? Maybe Robert will get hot and we can sell high? Maybe this idea is insane? I am open to all possibilities.
Or maybe move Polanco to 2B - if he is capable of movement?
