Let’s recap the week for those that told us we were wrong.
Schwarber it’s about 2000 feet of HR’s
Harper - Cycle
6 error game
Give up 10+ runs both games of a DH
15 RBI is 3 games to a guy hitting .183

that should be a full season of bad moments. Not a single week

Fair enough there but also not going to be great for a 2027 season if the owners stick to this ridiculous stuff.
The divide is so wide, I doubt there will be any type of 2027 season with any real credibility.

I guess it had to happen, but it changes nothing.

Mets now will have had two managers named Green. Who was the other?

Like his predecessor, Andy will soon learn that it's not easy being Green.

Stearns is just hiding- only kept Medoza long enough to keep a shield in front of himself...No where to hide for the worst GM in Met's history anymore.

Andy Green spent four years as Padres skipper. Winning % was .428

Fun fact: middle name is Mulligan

But he's not hiding? You can tag him on the record this year but don't have to make stuff up on top of it. He just had a public PC earlier this week and will be speaking again later today.

Hallelujah!

Mendoza should have been fired during the 12 game losing streak in April whereby the season could have been salvaged

This mess isn’t his complete fault but he’s an awful manager

Held no one accountable / Had no respect in the locker room / only wanted to be liked / and the team did not respond to him last year or this year !

Most importantly his teams were so ill prepared !

He ll follow Luis Rojas and become the 3b or 1b coach for the Yankees

Talking about Luis Rojas - where is he ? Is he still with Yankees ?

I am not sure you understand what I meant...There are so many people in business- that will keep someone on board as their sheild they are hiding behind- someone that they can get rid of only to keep themselves protected just a little longer. That is what I meant.

Now that his biggest shield is gone- Stearns has no one else he can burn as a shield.

I think they truly liked Mendoza and wanted to give him time. I did misread your comments though taking it too literally as we have seen executives disappear in bad times.

To me, my red flag on Mendoza was a game in which Vientos ignored a stop sign from the 3B coach and was out at home by 20 feet.

After the game he was completely unapologetic. He said he "trusted his instincts". (I guess more than his coach?) His primary concern was that the play might cause him to "lose his aggressiveness", but he said he wouldn't let that happen.

The CORRECT response of course would have been "I f'd up. Mendy immediately spoke to me about it. I promised him that it would never happen again."

Based on what I heard and did not hear, I concluded that Vientos had no respect for Mendoza. And if one player openly disrespected him, quite likely others did as well.

This team has lacked accountable for the whole time Mendy's was here, from Peterson/Severino never backing up home, anything Vientos related, yesterday I watched the Cubs steal a bag Baty who has not played a lot of 2B this year had to come off the bag to field a one-hopper and Maurico never moved to back up the play. Sloppy play all over the field, Benge keeps making little bonehead plays and it has not been addressed. It was sloppy all around and while the terrible roster construction has to be worn by Stearns the unpreparedness is on Mendoza.
