  • Valentine is the county seat and largest city in the county.
  • Created in 1883.
  • Cherry County is named for Lt. Samuel Cherry, an Army officer stationed at Fort Niobrara and was killed in South Dakota in 1881.
  • The county is roughly 6,000 square miles and is Nebraska’s largest county.
  • Cherry County is larger than Rhode Island, Delaware, and Connecticut.

And Gregg is the son of Jerry. Between the two of them, four national championship rings. Only the Kosches have more.
