See my post above. I can’t access the new site to get things ready for Monday. Customer service said wait until after the transition and call back. They also said it’s a known issue with a lot of the transfers. Monday, and days after, will 100% be a **** show for a lot of business owners.

Edit to add. Speaking of **** shows. I can’t access my Cadence account this morning. Huntingdon shut it down at 6 yesterday.
The letter I received said the mobile app and online banking platform would go down Thursday and be back up this weekend. And I was able to get a personalized tutorial on the business online for my treasury stuff for business.
Debit card still worked this morning for coffee.

That said, the manager at my local branch has been on top of this stuff since the announcement. Probably not the case everywhere, as pirate described above. If someone told me “I don’t know, wait til Monday”. I’d have the same opinion. 17 that.

I’ve taken 2 of 4 business classes. Asked yesterday during the q&a about access. They had someone call me. They went through trouble shooting then came to the same conclusion as customer service. Check back Monday.

The letters say one thing and when you call and depending on who you talk to you hear something else. You can walk into the branch, and they say something else than what's in the letters. I personally going by what is in the letters. That is a paper trail if I get screwed. I did call Huntington Bank directly and asked them what was going on and what will happen. They seem to know what was going on vs calling Candence Bank. The lady at Huntington Bank said the new online banking will not be available until the transition is final which will be the 22nd. That day I will be able to access my online banking with Huntington. She said deposits, transitions and balances will transfer over however since it is a new routing and account number i have to call all my creditors with automatic payments and deposit to reset those up. I have pretty much gotten everything switch with deposits and payments going out. I will activate my new debit card on the 22nd. Lucky for me the direct deposit person with my employer banks with Candence bank and she was really up on what was going on. She stressed getting everything switch as soon as possible. Example my online banking with Candence was supposed to be available to me up until 6:00 pm Eastern Time. It was close at 3:00 pm central time. They will make mistakes.

It also doesn't help today is a Federal Holliday.

Just a word of warning about automatic drafts and automatic payments. After my father died we set most all my mom’s bills up on drafts. When she died it was a nightmare to get those drafts stopped. We eventually closed her bank account thinking that would stop it only to have her estate turned over to collection agencies. It was an absolute nightmare. We eventually had to send every creditor official death certificates to get it all stopped. I’ll never set anything up on a draft again.

The bank in the state least likely to put you thru being bought is regions. Not saying they can’t be bought but they are large enough to make a purchase more difficult. I don’t think either renasant or trustmark want to sell but they are a perfect size with a good low cost deposit base that banks like to purchase.

I’ve never worked at Huntington but I’ve worked with them on deals in the past and I’ve always thought they were a solid bank. It’s odd to me they have made such a debacle of this. Cadence was a decent size bank but Huntington should have been able to fold them in seamlessly.
But then you're with regions, where it's like they are constantly going through a transition.

If my **** isn't easy to deal with on Monday I will move somewhere. I like the people I deal with at Cadence, but not thrilled with losing access to internet banking for almost four days. It would have been nice to have an easy transition where they offer a new account and move money to it before shutting down my access to Cadence. Obviously I could have done that myself, but I could also just as easily have done that with another bank. A major reason banking accounts are sticky is that it's a pain to move them. I don't know why you'd spend all that money and then say, we're going to make it just as painful as if you are switching banks, so why don't you look into doing that?

That sounds like my executors (brother) problem not mine. And he owes me for all the years of free tax returns I’ve done for him. **

Seriously, good point I really hadn’t thought of. I think all of mine are things like utility bills & a credit card I pay off monthly so things my estate would legitimately owe anyway.

Or just keep your routing number & account number the same & the only thing you notice is one day your log in is redirected to the Huntington site. It just seems to me they’ve made this a lot harder than it needs to be.

I have an incoming ACH payment from a freelance client due to arrive Tuesday. Before I sent that invoice on 6.1, I first searched online, then called the infoline number to ask if the client could still pay me through my existing routing/account number on 6.22. The person on the other end didn't know and couldn't find out. I didn't have time to go stand in a branch and ask the same thing in person, so . . .

I figure it will still work, and will for some time, but I'd rather have had a clear answer.

I received a letter dated June 4th that my mortgage would not be able to be processed by Cadence beginning May 29th. Doesn't give me a great sense of confidence that this will end well.

Ha agree about regions. Hopefully everything will work smoothly next week for you.

All of the documentation I says that this ACH should work as before. You will be able to continue using this ACH process through the end of 2026, but I would change the routing # and account # in the next 60-90 days.

Our biggest headache was Dish Network, we couldn’t cancel the subscription because the two people listed on the account were dead and couldn’t verify that they wanted it cancelled. The other headache was the small rural water district. Two of the three employees literally went to church with my mother and attended her funeral but we couldn’t stop the monthly draft because they used a third party billing service.

I was undecided until yesterday but made the switch to First Security. Felt like Bank of MS back in the day, just a good hometown bank. I was 5th in line to switch to them that day. The employee said they were struggling to keep up with so many customers coming over.

Wait a couple of years and most of the smaller banks will be absorbed by bigger banks. This deal made Huntington National Bank the 10th largest US Bank.

If any of yall make the trip to Minneapolis to watching State vs Gophers, they will be playing on Huntington Bank stadium. If you find your way to a Cleveland Browns game, you will be watching inside Huntington Bank Field. There will be more absorptions by multiple large banks. So you can move your business, but unless it is Regions or maybe Trustmark, there is a good chance most others will be targets over the next 5-8 years.

It is inevitable.
Depends on the next FCC chair and administration. Banks are consolidating like 20 minutes until last call currently. Definitely need a Lina Khan or some such to reverse the mindless consolidation.

Well, I see that Huntington is going to pay 6.05% interest to the grandfathered cadence performance checking customers. Only on balances up to $30k, but still - that's nice. If they terminate that account, I'm moving...
you are a cheap date.

I received all of my new account numbers and cards, but never got a prompt on the app or website to enroll in Huntington. I tried to enroll by putting in the new account numbers they sent me with no luck. I asked my local branch manager and was told "We have no clue. Wait until Monday and see if it works then."
They told me to set up my mortgage online and it would bring in other accounts with it. Spoiler: this was not true. My other accounts are somewhere in limbo.

I went to a Cadence Bank branch and paid mine there on the 2nd. I set up my mortgage account on the Huntington web site this past week.

the new signage will be unveiled on Monday. Seems like a waste to install new signage and then cover it up until Monday.
That's what I thought too and made me wonder.
At least two Hattiesburg branches had their Huntington signs unveiled today…
