Love for Duke yes, and love for kentucky ever since I can remember

LMAO, that's not even close to the truth, he pumped your asses AND Dukes for years and years, only stopped when ya'll started spending 21 million on a roster and getting squat in return.
I see your post where you said recruits think Pope is weird. Total Fail. You are completely discredited with that lazy analysis. Enjoy our acension in BB and FB while your Tar Heels or whatever rival fan you are has to sit there and watch it all.

I had to look.

Of course Duke has not listed their cupcakes, yet. So, if you look at their current ooc schedule, it does look pretty good: MSU, Illinois, UConn, Florida, Michigan, and Zaga. This will obviously be filled with the likes of Army and some random directional school.

KU: Fordham, Middle Tenn, UK, UNLV, Auburn or WVU in Vegas, Denver, Villanova, Northern Iowa, Mizzou, UConn, OSU, Indiana St, and New Orleans

UK: Manhattan, JMU, KU, Northern Arizona, Grambling St, IU, UVA, Bryant, UL, UNC, Sacred Heart, and Gardner-Webb

Not seeing anything to call out UK's schedule compared to others.
It was the same thing with cal it was play some top teams, but our cupcakes are big-time cupcakes. They’re not like Quad two or even Quad three. They will probably be all Quad four games.. the last couple years with pope at the helm just a couple Quad 2 or Quad three games in the non- conference would make all the difference in the world

Hell Duke has historically only played out of conference a couple of tough games and then looked for the biggest cupcakes for the rest but Vitale would never criticize Duke or most ACC schools because Vital has become a joke.
I wish him well but he definitely has a lot of mental decline. He is now irrelevant because of that

His opinion does not bother me. I agree it seems odd to single out UK for what most major traditional powers do. The reference to roster salary does seem like a skip on the vinyl.

If he’s harping on a 21 million dollar roster, his jaw would be on the floor if Duke ever revealed the actual costs of theirs
Yet he wouldn't dare say one ******* word about the money they spend, that is against ESPN policy to talk bad about those **** wads.

At least two of the teams we are playing would be challenged to beat Transy or Georgetown. So in a sense he is right. This year's assortment of cupcakes is really bad

Is it any shock that Kentucky has a nice run the last few weeks, getting Momcilovic, Hampton, new AD, and something like this comes out of left field from a guy who is basically fighting for his life these days with various cancers?

All I'm saying is, let me check that phone call history and see if Coach K didnt call him two nights ago. Duke had to stop the bleeding.

Good grief! 🙄 Yeah go "check that phone call history."

Duke has a much easier conference schedule than us right now. 7 big-game opponents vs 5 is a little better than us, but then they coast most of the time in conference.

The ACC is unequivocally worse than the SEC as of late. That conference as a whole seems closer to the BigEast than it does the SEC or Big10.

ACC used to be at the highest tier, with the Pac10, Big10, Big12, BE and the SEC. But times have changed. SEC and Big10 are at tier 1.. and ACC is not.

On paper, Duke's non-conference schedule appears to be the toughest ever based on rankings. Using CBK Report rankings (yes, the AP could be a little different come October). Duke plays....
#1 Florida @ Florida
#3 Illinois @ Duke
#4 Michigan Neutral
#5 Uconn Neutral
#6 Michigan State Neutral
#9 Gonzaga Neutral
Georgia Neutral

They literally could have played the whole preseason top 6 however they can't play themselves.
Yes, the ACC is down, however the 2 ACC teams that Duke plays twice: UNC and UVA make it tougher than it should be.
A non-conference schedule like this has never been done before. Nobody's compares to this.

They're likely doing that BECAUSE the ACC isn't giving them enough chances to earn metric-boosting wins. Which, is the right thing to do, so good for them. But let's not pretend Duke is out here looking for tough challenges for no reason.

Where did I mention UConn? Just saying what I'd like to see
Fairly customary these days that top programs skip the strong mid majors, as it's a lose lose proposition. Those mid majors get stoked to play usually bring their A++ game.

Right now, the method that works is scheduling 4 tomato cans that you can wallop by 50 for the metrics and to get warm, then fill in with P5 schools to beef the resume up, and if you lose it's still seen as a quality loss.

I actually wish that we would cut down the list of legit teams to about three or four for the pre-conference schedule.
Connecticut home and home
Louisville
North Carolina or Kansas
Duke home and home
That would be a really fun slate. Not sure if some of these schools will want the home and home given the neutral site offers more flex to capture $$$.

Either hosting, or heading to Cameron, Phog or Gampel would be a blast. Ville is a no brainer.

Every college in the NCAA is allowed to directly contribute more than 21 million to NIL.

He acts like we are unique in that…

He’s a Dukie weirdo and while I appreciate his contribution to the game, his opinions are worthless.

You do realize that EVERY school in the NCAA that is of any decent size likely spends the exact same amount right? There is a specific number schools can directly contribute from revenue sharing right? Guess what that number is….$20.5 million. Weird.

You sound as clueless as Dukie V.

You'd think he would be more concerned about cancer and spending time with his grandkids. But yeah, Dick, we play a few cupcakes. 🙄

Oh look who comes crawling back

What an obvious display of damage control.

You dont have to kiss our butts Dickie V.. just dont run your mouth about sh*t out of no where, completely unprovoked. Why does it feel like hes just one of half a dozen or so people like Goodman or that credit card theif who just have some weird disdain for Kentucky that randomly comes up?

Im telling you, someone didnt like Kentucky winning the last 2 weeks of the media cycle.

Five games against projected ranked opponents is the norm in my experience, maybe six at the most.

Odd how everyone seems to know or at least think they know how much NIL money we spend, yet no one knows the NIL spent by other blue blood programs. Weird, eh?
