yes everyone knows about skin staff...my q was it sounded like it was internal to the knee

Staph infections from the skin can spread to deeper tissue, especially if there was a cut or something. Obviously, I have no idea if that’s what happened here

Have seen it personally on an athlete go from what looked like an ingrown hair on a Friday to being in the hospital and having surgery to remove the infection from the knee on Monday. He then had tubes inserted to drain it and a home nurse for a few weeks. It wasn't handled properly by the head coach which lead to him transferring.

In HS several on the wrestling team came down with staph boils. I believe I had three, all of which had to be lanced. One of my teammates was hospitalized. The one on my thigh was so bad that the doctor called in a bunch of medical staff so they could get a firsthand look at how bad a boil can get : ( It was shocking how much puss they got out of it!

yea, pretty gross. Had a teamate that had a propensity to get them on his elbow. I cam back from a freestyle tourney in Joliet in the late 70s with something all over my backside. Ended up on antibiotics, soaking them in hot Epson salt (cloth) and then I think I lost a lot of weight when 'squeezed'. I think I got them by continued running in my nylon bottoms trying to make weight. Would run a few miles, weigh in, then back at it. Needless to say it was a long ride back to central Pa with something happening 'back there' :)

As an aside, one time in grad school I got some sort of boil just under my jaw. It festered and got bigger and redder until I said - **** it. Put a huge needle in a hot pot, boiled it, pulled it out and slowly shoved it in the boil. There was resistance - and pain - until, finally, I penetrated the pus cavern. The initial discharge splattered the bathroom mirror. Then I started squeezing hard and rivulets of pus kept pouring out. It was both disgusting and a huge relief.

Put some neospirin on it and I was good to go. Just have a small scar these many decades later.

Hah! Poor student too lazy to go to student health.

That was also the year I drank a shot and a beer every time the 49ers scored in the Super Bowl. I was wrecked by the 3rd quarter. Final score 55-10. I walked/stumbled home sometime in the 4th Q - about a mile and a half walk. Somewhat sobered up when I got back to our suite because it took a while. Asked my very studious suite mate who won. He said - how the **** do I know - you were the one watching the game.

I have no idea how I didn’t need to boot that night.

I won't be able to watch so if someone could do pbp it would be greatly appreciated.
I will be here!

I do have one thing to take care of Friday morning that might bleed into some of the true third matches, which would lead me to post just results from those, but TBD on that. I'll update everyone Friday morning, but despite that, I will be here and ready to roll 2 - whenever for the Final X finals themselves.

12 OR 1230 pm - True Thirds
2pm - First Round
5pm - Second Round

3rd Round will be 30 minutes after 2nd Round, if necessary.
Just an FYI, the most recent USA Wrestling news release lists a 12:30 p.m. ET start for the true third matches.

Also, before someone asks: There is no indication that the second round could start earlier than 5 p.m. ET even though with fewer matches I assume that first round session will end earlier than it usually does.

Flo guys said to be ready at 1200. I think USA Wrestling did the same thing last year and started True Thirds early.

And correct. No matter what - 5pm is start time for 2nd round.

You know what, good call on that. I do remember that being the case last year.
