Unfortunately, they got rid of GA tickets a few years ago. Bleachers used to be much rowdier when you could get in for cheap. Sadly, like most events, they are pricing people out of the CWS. A shame.
I joked with a friend who is going that I bought a 10-ticket GA book for $70 at Rosenblatt in 2009 and used those tickets for the non-UNC games and that I was "guessing those no longer exist." I'm not sure if the GA section was what it was at Rosenblatt but it's a shame that option is completely gone, though I understand it.

Thanks for the post! What are your top three restaurants/bars in the Old Market or stadium area? Formal or less formal.

Any specific steakhouse recommendations? I saw Greg's post on Drover.
Other than CWS time, I don't get downtown very often. I also prefer a more casual restaurant than formal. My top three downtown Omaha restaurants are:
1. Dirty Birds (have to get a chicken sandwich and the blue corn hushpuppies, closed Mon/Tues)
2. Block 16 (sandwiches/burgers, everything here is great, closed Sunday)
2. Fizzy's Fountain & Liquors (in Little Bohemia a short drive south of the stadium, old school diner vibe with great food and drinks, closed Mon/Tues)

Those are just my personal favorites. There are plenty of other great dining options, many of which I've never had. Here is guide for options...

The bar scene downtown/next to the stadium will be buzzing, especially during the opening weekend. The Blatt is right across the street (south of right field). I saw that Pat McAfee is doing a show from there on Friday. There will be a a big are tented off for vendors between the Blatt and The Old Mattress Factory B&G. This is where you will get all your souvenirs. The Matt will have a big beer garden out back and likely some live music later in the night. Rocco's (west of the stadium) has become very popular the last several years for their Jell-O shot challenge. Expect a long line to get in there. The Capital District and Old Market are close to the stadium if you wanted more bar options.

Unpopular take, I'm actually not a huge steak guy. We are known for some good options of course. If you are doing a steakhouse night, I second what Greg said with the Drover. I went there once a few years ago for my anniversary dinner and it was great. Food, atmosphere, and experience are worth it. That's not downtown though so would be about a 15 minute drive or so west. Other popular spots are Gorat's (Warren Buffet's favorite), Brother Sebastian's, Mahogany, J-Gilbert's just to name a few.

I'll be down there Friday, so hoping to run into some of you all! Pumped to hear about everyone's Omaha experience.

Really is sad. Those bleachers at Rosenblatt were a scene back in the day.

So Nebraska needs to get a new nickname? Should it be the Iowa Cornhuskers?

Well, yeah. Iowa grows way more corn than Nebraska. lol

Johnny Goodman, Indian Creek and mostly Shoreline. I did make the trip out to Quarry Oaks as well.
Great choices! Shoreline proximity is ideal for CWS and in my opinion the best bang for your buck in the city. Glad you got to play Quarry! If you are here this year (and bringing your clubs), recommend Iron Horse in Ashland. Pretty close to Quarry.

Trip off to a disastrous start. Greensboro to Detroit flight delayed, causing us to miss connecting flight to Des Moines. Rebooted us to fly in TOMORROW morning.

Currently at gate in Greensboro with hopes of getting to Atlanta, then to Des Moines by 135 today. Only me and my son are confirmed though and my wife is stand-by. If she misses that she is confirmed to land in Des Moines at 550. I guess we will have to book a 2nd car rental. Shes a good woman!!

Good thing we haven't bought tickets for tonight yet.

Wow, she's a saint! Sorry to hear about this, safe travels and hope it all works out today. Someone needs to have a Jell-O shot ready for you.

Actually doing a Bucket List item:
Omaha Road Trip
Left Wed and drove to Cincinnati Ohio
Hooked up with brother and drove Thursday to Omaha NE
Plan to take ALL games in. Didn't score UNC ticket through RC but with advise from JordanF0705 about secondary market, have had great success finding great tickets and staying within budget.
And as he advised purchase the morning of. Problem has been the hotels WiFi though being in and out. Paying around $100 so far for UNC games. As we are paying up for better seat locations. Non UNC games $50 - $60 per tickets
So far so good. Lets hope the Heels can bring this one home!
Go Heels!!!!

I went to Dirty Birds and got their version of the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Words won't do it justice--great spot (and the staff was awesome.) Also hit up coneflower near the stadium and I'm not sure how you could have better ice cream.

Thanks for the recommendations, and go Heels!

Went for the first time to the Friday game with my 82 year old mom. She had gone with my dad in 06 so we have unfinished business…. It’s the nicest event of any sort I’ve ever attended. The people in Omaha are so happy to have you and they are so nice and helpful to everyone. Even the low income parts of town are clean. There don’t have any bums on the street corners anywhere. Even the opposing fans are incredibly gracious and respectful. After losing a tough game to us, so many Ole Miss fans we saw simply congratulated us on playing so well and wished us luck. It’s just a different class of people out there all the way around.

Looks like we may be taking today off as brother went to urgent care this morning due to a head cold that kept him up all night.
Here's praying that it along with a day's rest will get him to feeling better for Wed.'s game.

We have being getting tickets in sections 119 & 115 around row 25 for each game other than game 1. Purchasing them in morning of for around $75 - $100. They continue to drop up until game, just do not want to chance it.
