Unfortunately, they got rid of GA tickets a few years ago. Bleachers used to be much rowdier when you could get in for cheap. Sadly, like most events, they are pricing people out of the CWS. A shame.
I joked with a friend who is going that I bought a 10-ticket GA book for $70 at Rosenblatt in 2009 and used those tickets for the non-UNC games and that I was "guessing those no longer exist." I'm not sure if the GA section was what it was at Rosenblatt but it's a shame that option is completely gone, though I understand it.

Thanks for the post! What are your top three restaurants/bars in the Old Market or stadium area? Formal or less formal.

Any specific steakhouse recommendations? I saw Greg's post on Drover.
Other than CWS time, I don't get downtown very often. I also prefer a more casual restaurant than formal. My top three downtown Omaha restaurants are:
1. Dirty Birds (have to get a chicken sandwich and the blue corn hushpuppies, closed Mon/Tues)
2. Block 16 (sandwiches/burgers, everything here is great, closed Sunday)
2. Fizzy's Fountain & Liquors (in Little Bohemia a short drive south of the stadium, old school diner vibe with great food and drinks, closed Mon/Tues)

Those are just my personal favorites. There are plenty of other great dining options, many of which I've never had. Here is guide for options...

The bar scene downtown/next to the stadium will be buzzing, especially during the opening weekend. The Blatt is right across the street (south of right field). I saw that Pat McAfee is doing a show from there on Friday. There will be a a big are tented off for vendors between the Blatt and The Old Mattress Factory B&G. This is where you will get all your souvenirs. The Matt will have a big beer garden out back and likely some live music later in the night. Rocco's (west of the stadium) has become very popular the last several years for their Jell-O shot challenge. Expect a long line to get in there. The Capital District and Old Market are close to the stadium if you wanted more bar options.

Unpopular take, I'm actually not a huge steak guy. We are known for some good options of course. If you are doing a steakhouse night, I second what Greg said with the Drover. I went there once a few years ago for my anniversary dinner and it was great. Food, atmosphere, and experience are worth it. That's not downtown though so would be about a 15 minute drive or so west. Other popular spots are Gorat's (Warren Buffet's favorite), Brother Sebastian's, Mahogany, J-Gilbert's just to name a few.

I'll be down there Friday, so hoping to run into some of you all! Pumped to hear about everyone's Omaha experience.

Really is sad. Those bleachers at Rosenblatt were a scene back in the day.

So Nebraska needs to get a new nickname? Should it be the Iowa Cornhuskers?

Well, yeah. Iowa grows way more corn than Nebraska. lol
