My first exposure to world-class soccer was when I’d see Johan Cryuff playing for the Washington Diplomats at RFK, back in the late seventies. He was really really an eye-opener. My friends and I would go up to the deserted upper deck and pass around joints. Good times.

Yo, hand me a Puff?

Ivory Coast 1-0 Ecuador, goal at 88'. Very high level soccer.
It was a really good game, and the scoreline didn’t show how many chances both teams had…really up and back game with three crossbars. I’m pretty invested in Ivory Coast, so some positive variance for them to pull out the three points as that one really could have gone either way.

I'm not sure what Tunisia's GK was doing. The defense stopped 1 shot, but the 2nd shot was a rocket that was perfectly placed.

A really quick counter, an excellent pass at midfield, and some lax D against the attacker with the ball, and this is the result:

Yeah, looks like the most challenging group. Can three teams advance or just the top two? @Erial_Lion
If Tunisia loses all 3, then the other 3 teams will almost certainly advance. If one of those other teams loses/draws to Tunisia, then it becomes a lot tougher.

Basically, 4 points is pretty much a lock to make the Round of 32. 3 will likely be the cutoff where some will make it and others won't, so goal difference will be very important if you win one and lose two, ending up on 3 points.

Don't understand why Spain keeps launching so many long range shots...breaking them down with quick passing and getting the ball into the box seems like such a better strategy to me.

Cape Verde laughs at Spain. Remarkable when you consider that no one has ever heard of Cape Verde.

Hated Spain's lineup from the start...had the look of a team that thought they had this one in the bag. Little creativity in the final 3rd for a team that should be used to playing against a defense packing it in on them. Really enjoyable game despite the 0-0 result (well, unless you're a big Spain fan).
