They can paint a line, they just don't because it is easier to manipulate the calls. I totally get it, it is smart. No other sport has such a generic subjective rule that is probably also the most important rule in the entire sport. Hockey is the most similar and somehow they were able to paint a line.
Baseball players are probably the biggest babies, I can agree with that.
They can't paint a line. Offsides is a moving target, depending upon where the last defender is. While I agree that there are certain rules that are subjective, offisides is pretty easily defined and can't be easily used to manipulate outcomes.
AR will pick up if a player was off or on.
I was once like many here. Soccer was a game you played at 4 years old until you played the "real sports". Until my kids played. Trust me, it's physical. I actually saw a high school soccer game with one kid (goalie) with a broken arm, and two others with concussions. Granted, the officiating sucked, which is why it turned into a brawl. That's what happens when you get some older fat dude that can't move to follow the action more than about 10 yards either side of midfield.
One thing I'll say is, soccer does WAY more irt the development of a football player than track. I can still remember way back in the first couple of seasons of even just coaching middle school football. All of the kids that could pick up on proper footwork irt to blocking extremely quickly? All soccer players.
