There are none so blind then those who will not see.
Refuting the fact of the voter registration rolls heavily favors democratic and sticking to unproven conspiracy theories that fit a political agenda is not going to convince anyone except those thsat don't want to look at the truth of the matter
Just one of the many false claims gets the truth treatment

She might have come in second in her district to Bass, as you implied.
But Raman did come out strong in other areas of the city
>She also dominated the Westwood precinct that includes UCLA, winning 56% of the vote in one precinct, compared with Bass’ 19% and Pratt’s 10%. And in a Los Feliz precinct in her council district, Raman so far has 58% of the vote, far ahead of Bass and Pratt.

Also love the photo you provided, though can't say it means anything of value
But your using it and where it comes from makes me wonder if you're getting vaild information to base your opinions on
a quick check on google found this

I feel i have backed up my opinion with facts and if they are accepted, fine by me.
If not, that's also fine.

I would think someone from the other side of the aisle conceding the way votes are counted here is a joke would be of some value.

This is 100% not the case for any beach in Monmouth county besides Maybe Sea Girt/Spring Lake. It would be foolish to even say that out loud about Squan or Belmar, where every close spot is taken by 5PM on Friday for basically the entire weekend.
Yeah, lived in Bradley for 20 years, Spring Lake may be the only town w a ton of street parking.

Are you saying Glenn is on the Dem side? I'm not so sure. I have had many discussions/debates with liberals on this very topic, and they assert Glenn is a "right-winger." But such is the nature of things these days with some people-if you don't follow the entire playbook for "their side," then you are on the other side.

Glenn is a great follow- he can be a both-sides type of person, but he is often has the better argument on specific issues, regardless of which side of aisle his opinion aligns with.

There are reasons for that in Spring Lake- it is the no fun beach. No coolers or baskets or food allowed on the beach. Also, there is a paucity of hot chicks. Got to go to Belmar for that.

Well he really hated Dems for not being more anti Israel actions in Gaza. But then he realized he hated the current regime more once they invited a foreign country into the Situation Room to quarterback a war that killed Americans and the global economy.

So I will give him that he owned up to his mistake.

And while I think he is clever, his defenses of Putin over the years and the way he met his husband (who I believed now passed) at a very young age raise a lot of questions.

There is a difference between "count votes faster" and "every election I lose is fraud."

Absolutely no one with a brain believed Pratt was going to win. And the people that did lost 63 court cases trying to prove fraud In one prior election alone.

Same thing here in NJ last year, when the same people lost in a major landslide, which their internals told them it was happening. That was also "fraud." It is also fraud when most of Newark or Paterson votes a certain way, but when Lakewood does it? Not fraud! Mysterious!

However Hilton making it through to November was mysteriously fine. I assume he isn't required to face "remigration" somehow either, despite just arriving in the US recently.

Count votes faster, sure up the obvious holes and the constant fraud claims become less defensible. That is what Greenwald is referring to and what I agree with. Thankfully this is becoming a both sides issue.

Most people here, myself included, didn’t think Pratt would win.

Great post.

In my opinion, the best leaders are the ones that extremists on both sides dislike. It's likely that such people think for themselves and evaluate each issue independently. Their beliefs on the full scorecard don't line up closely enough with either tribe, and thus they go "unclaimed."

There used to be a lot more of these people; I hope we get back to that someday, because open-minded people of every political persuasion have something valuable to contribute...

Dirty little secret.....

On Thu night or Fri morning, some residents move their cars to the street so that they can have more available spaces on their property
Some? I assumed all did that haha. The amount of spots gone on Thursday afternoon now vs how many of the weekenders are in town, its very obvious that has been happening for years.

However, the total amount of beaten down rental houses dwindles more and more with each passing year. I don't know where the mid 20's crowd is going to rent in about 10 more years. All those houses will be sold, knocked down, and rebuilt into a mini-mansion.

good point on the 20 some rentals, even Belmar is transitioning. Back in the late 80s we always got the same house in Belmar, 3 BR, 2 bath about 2 blocks from the beach was about $1500 each or $9K total.. Basically $100 a weekend each. Good times.

I feel sad for my Gen Z brethren. Most won't be able to afford any houses of their own for a long time, and they won't be able to rent a shore house soon either. Only a matter of time before it starts crushing the bars down here as well, especially combined with the fact that generation doesn't drink nearly as much as their predecessors.

For an example - The place we rented in Squan, which was about $12k per summer from 2010-2016 and slept 5 legally and we had ~6 people pay, so about $2k-2.5k per person, has been rented by year round folks for years. The house on the corner of 1st& Brielle just got knocked down, that was a huge renter house for the entire decade + that I was in Squan. It's sad, really killing what was left of all my great memories of young adulthood.

I live in a 3br, 2.5 bath, 1500sq/ft townhouse that I bought in 2017 for $210k in Brick. Nice neighborhood but nothing crazy. Its current estimate is $440k, which is pretty realistic given what others in the neighborhood have gone for. I also have an APR around 3.25%. If someone now put 20% down, they'd be paying way more than double what I pay monthly.

I know that I can not afford that right now, and won't be able to for probably a decade at best. And that would be to just rebuy our same house, not upgrade into something we'd actually want to move into. Short of getting significant help from parents, or working in a $100k+ job X2 and saving for a while, home ownership is out of reach. I didn't have huge dreams of home ownership when I bought my place, I more did it cause it made sense financially vs renting back in 2017. But I thank my lucky stars I bought when I did. Brick is also one of the relatively cheaper places that isn't a total boondox ******** town (although parts of it teeter on that). But my place would go for $100k+ more in parts of Old Bridge where I grew up, which still is a very long commute to NYC. Times are tough for most 20 somethings.

There are 2 spots in front of our place. On certain nights/times, we would position the vehicle to take up both spots to save a spot for a guest of a neighbor. Not the best version of us, but sometimes the neighbor would text in advance and ask if we could hold a spot for them. Also, back when D'Jais was more rowdy, we did not want to listen to the DJ patrons in front of the house at 2-2:30 a.m.

Was pleasantly surprised last weekend. Went to a buddies house right around the corner from the church parking lot in Squan. Was just going to pay to park in the lot cause the far corner of the lot is like 100 feet from his house. Family that lives across the street from the lot stopped us as we were going to pull into the lot and told us to come squeeze in front of their house and it was OK to block some of their driveway, they weren't going anywhere. So nice, dont see that often.

In Belmar, they used to and probably still ticket you if you block a driveway, even if it is your own.

Not understanding the logic of that, but towns have to make money so. . . . .
Got into it with a “huffy”cop(special) in Avalon many years ago about this. He ticketed us and our neighbor for blocking our own driveway. We were seasonal renters (4 years same house) and they were a year round senior couple (nicest people on the planet). It was mandatory court appearance. I said it was fine for me to take off work and drive 2 1/2 hours from NYC but you’re really inconveniencing the 80 year old couple that lives here full time. I thought his head was going to explode. He couldn’t comprehend what I just said. This ticket was in July court appearance October. 100+ people in the small court.m. I show up speak with the town attorney and he downgrades ours to a simple parking ticket and keeps the neighbors because they didn’t fight it. I end up paying their fine. And they rewarded me and my housemates with their driveway the next 2 summers. So it all worked out in the end.
But yes the town attorney admitted it’s just one giant money grab and inexperienced special cops trying to make a name for themselves in the hopes of becoming a full time hire.

Shore towns need to pump up tickets for revenue. They love socking it to the visitors especially. Some local towns have favorite spots where the police ticket people for ticky/tack violations. Many years ago, my mother was ticketed by a Lakehurst police officer for an improper lane change in a traffic circle. IIRC, it was 2 points and a fine. My Mom was in her 70s, and she had a spotless driving record. She was livid. I took her case, met with the prosecutor beforehand, and I forget the actual charge I pled down to- but is was something like a $25 fine and no points. The prosecutor looked at me and said he never saw this statute and if I had something else. I politely informed him that my mother had a 50 plus years of spotless driving record, that there are no marked lanes in that traffic circle, and even with this plea, she was not going to be happy. He entered the plea, and I had to restrain my Mom from giving the police officer a piece of her mind in the hallway as we left the court.

Yea I got a parking ticket in Asbury a couple years ago. Getting a haircut and I see the special seasonal cop ticketing cars next to me. He drops a ticket on my car. I stand up from the chair and yell to him that I paid the meter and have a receipt. He says there’s nothing he could do tickets written. Call buddy that’s an Asbury cop. He laughs and guesses the kids name. Kid was written up twice for doing the same thing already. But the kid thinks the more tickets he writes the better he looks. Bad logic. Kid didn’t make it out of the probationary summer program.

My dad is a resident of AP and has a resident parking permit. He gets at least two parking tickets a year, even though he is parked properly. Even if he catches the parking enforcement guy while he is writing it, he still has to go to court or the police station to get it dismissed. Big inconvenience.

Yep exactly. Pretty much posted same thing above about Avalon. They prey on the inconvenience factor. Luckily I got a nice women in the parking authority. She was able to void ticket before it made it into the state/municipal payment system. Once it’s in there it’s a nightmare to get it voided.
