Trump and midterms

I know there are other threads that are related, but I'd like to narrow the focus.

Trump has already primaried a US Senator and a few House members. So how will Trump react when GOP candidates he endorsed lose in general elections, and the Republicans lose both the House and Senate?

Trump will never take responsibility, but how will he shift the blame?

Will lame duck Republicans use their final month in Congress to retaliate against Trump overtly or covertly?

Will Republicans surviving in Congress still fear Trump trying to get them primaried in 2028, or will they stop bowing to every insane thing Trump says or does?

The Republican Party is facing a similar identity crisis the Democrats have faced since 2016. Do they continue to follow and support a clearly flawed (flaws are various) person by putting party first, or do they rethink their platform to focus on solving actual problems?

Trump apparently thinks he got a mandate by winning in 2024. He did not. If he was halfway intelligent he would have realized that Harris got way more votes than she should have based on her performance in the Democrat primary in 2020, and her performance as VP. Presidential elections are now based on 10% of swing voters in swing states. The next 2 1/2 years will be interesting politically. Republican politicians will need to decide whether Trump's endorsement is worth it or not.

The GOP strategy is to seize control of elections, gerrymander, intimidation at polling places, throw people off voting rolls and much much more. These Fascists don't plan on giving up power and are NOT participating in a Democracy and have no interest in doing so.
The republican message has been "race to 2026" since day one knowing the midterms were likely to muddy up the ability to get **** through. Quite literally the opposite of your histrionics.

Its crazy that states dont have to hand over their rolls for federal elections. This should go to the Supreme Court. The 14th amendment would not allow some states to have mail and others not.

So far, Trump-endorsed candidates have been doing well, unless I have missed something recently?

The Republican Party is the party of Trump. Any dissent or hint of it pretty much gets you excommunicated. And since most Republicans were willing to sell their souls and reverse their initial stance on Trump to save their political careers (see Rubio, Cruz, Graham, Vance, etc.), that is not changing anytime soon no matter how high Susan Collins’ concern level reaches.

All of us should have learned this after EpsteinGate. Once Trump balked on releasing the Epstein Files (a campaign promise) and it became clear Trump was protecting himself and his pedophile friends, I was certain that the Trump Train would start to derail. It did not. And pretty much everyone in the MAGA Idiot Brigade (outside of loons like MTG) did not so much as bat an eye. They not only were vociferous in denying reality, they even pivoted to why didn’t Joe Biden release them? as if that were somehow a cogent rebuttal or valid explanation for Trump reversing his stance after learning who and what were in them.

The point? Even pedophilia is not a dealbreaker for Republicans. I was almost certain it would be, but my former party made sure I would stand corrected. And they haven’t wavered, even in the face of this silly and mismanaged war.

Trust me. In ruby red states and districts, Trump-backed candidates will do just fine.

Crazy would be turning your state's voter rolls over to THIS corrupt administration to allow them to purge voters at their discretion. The Trump administration has been demanding complete, unredacted voter rolls with Social Security numbers and driver's license numbers from all 50 states, which is unprecedented in scope. Courts have already found that turning over a sensitive voter data violates federal privacy laws and since they have proven they can't be trusted, why would a state be stupid enough to believe they would cull the rolls fairly and accurately?

Why would any state not want to cull their own rolls fairly and accurately?...

They would and they do so why should they be open to allowing a corrupt federal government to meddle in their responsibilities? And especially if they're required to turn over sensitive voter data. You know as well as I do they can't be trusted with that information but you don't care because you hope they cull the rolls of libs and use it to centralize a national voter registry with no clear limits on future use. Keep in mind this could also be used against you by future Dem administrations.

I'm not a voter information expert, but what information on voters would the state have that the IRS, Homeland Security or Social Security don't already have? In fact, my information has been hacked so many times - according to all the free identity protection programs I've been given - that outside organizations might have more of my information than and state voting organization.

They do have it but what they don't have in a single place is the combination of that data linked to voter registration status, party affiliation, and voting history. No federal agency currently has a unified national file that tells you who is registered to vote, what party they're in, how often they vote, and where they live, something they've never had.
