Only a Philly fan would spew such drivel.
Sorry to crush your belief in Santa. Time to grow up. And the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy are fabricated as well. I'll debunk Big Foot later this week...all the tall tales are coming down on my watch lol. It's a liquidation sale on all your favorite fairy tale characters...everything must go lol

Barkley called Spurs "the dumbest basketball team in civilization" for going-up 29 points and then trying 8 three pointers in a row.

I thought Knicks were toast when Brunson rushed his last three pointer that was obviously going to brick. Then OG came in to save the day (and he had a key block just before".

OG's new Skechers look like work boots and theme is a good fit

i was hoping he waited another second to loft that shot, I had +2500 for the game to end in a buzzer beater

WTF with Taylor Swift. It's bad enough when watching a Chiefs game and she is present, 20 minutes of game coverage involves shots of her.

What exactly is her connection to NY? She grew up close to Philadelphia and moved to Nashville as a teenager. Zero connection to NYC.

Oh, she wore a "Stevie Knicks" t-shirt. And her dopey friends wore "Knickelback" and "Knickole Kidman" shirts.
Stevie Nicks is from Phoenix. Nicole Kidman is from Australia. Zero connection to NYC.

The Taylor Swift network slobberfest knows no bounds. Now she's making NBA basketball unwatchable.

In all honesty I'm starting to like sports less and less as I've gotten older. Vegas and sports betting is rampant and I'm thinking sports are while not outright rigged but getting severely influenced by gambling money. I feel like the sports industry has lost the plot and is going the way of pro wrestling and boxing, entertainment more than pure sport. Might be high time to start thinking of an exit strategy for a different hobby like fishing or golf or something along those lines lol.

Amazing how many celebrities came out of the woodwork when the Knicks started winning. I would agree that these games are becoming nothing more than backdrops for gambling and celebrity spectacle. If the NBA and NFL are not careful, they run the risk of becoming giggle sports that are broadcast on The Ocho.

I might be at a crossroads at age 40. The only pro sport I truly watch religiously anymore is the NFL and even that is growing stale with fantasy and sports betting getting more talk than teams who actually win. I don't sit down and watch a random MLB or NHL game on like a Wednesday night in mid season anymore. Might need to find my mid life crisis hobby like pickleball or fishing lol. I feel like many former hardcore sports fans are becoming like me and starting to lose interest.

There was a great segment on CNBC this morning about how sports is the only "fresh" TV content and it is growing. Not sure what the melding of all the celebrities has to do with sports--suppose it is supposed to be fun--but sports purists like me like to watch the game and not some celebrity who has showed up for first game ever or forever, and then miss game action while the camera keeps panning over to celebrities in the crowd.

Not sure if sports viewership is growing or not versus other TV content. Personally, all I watch is sports (baseball, college football and basketball), a little bit of NFL, and now very little NBA (had not watched games for over 30 years). Other than that, it is old MTV Classic 1980s, 120 Minutes, and Headbanger's ball, reruns of Sanford and Son, Rockford Files and Honeymooners. Find the current shows to be not interesting, and don't have time to follow them.

Friday afternoon/night golf, Saturday college football and Sunday fishing was my routine last fall. Used to watch nfl all day but the raiders being awful made it less enjoyable. Maybe that changes now but who knows

Exactly. I don't need to see cutaways to celebrities every 5 minutes. Spike Lee might have been one of the few celebrities that actually went to Knick games when they weren't winning.

Seemed more of a teen takeover like we are seeing more and more nowadays. Remember them kids in NY during the snow storm throwing snowballs at the cops.
It was downplayed unfortunately by some. There needs to be consequences for this

Too many things are happening mostly in football and basketball that are looking way too shady. And 100% we have seen football HC's play to the point spread and they are obvious about it

Some appalling and sickening behavior after the loss outside MSG from Knicks / NY fans.

I thought NYC was better than this, but apparently not.

Hopefully this gets cleaned up for the rest of the series and Spurs fans that are in attendance don’t have to fear for their lives.

Imagine wearing a Dylan Harper jersey at the game and getting assaulted and having it torn to shreds.

Sickening.

Well, now there are video's showing up how and why these fights happened. Example of the first dude that had his jersey stripped off- he had been trolling fans all night and then agreed to meet up to fight the one knick fan...now- the mob getting involved wasnt right but the does not look like Knick fans were just going after random Spurs fans...

I have barely followed pro sports for the last 30 years but I do watch occasionally, and I spend a lot of time among large groups of die hard NY, Boston and Phil fans. Since I don’t have interest in any particular team(s) I’m mostly an observer of those fan bases. New Yorkers tend to be the loudest and most eager to get into arguments. Philadelphia fans are the most likely to escalate an argument into a physical confrontation.

Yeah, Spike Lee is a true blue (and orange) fan. I think Ben Stiller too. And John McEnroe and Patty Smtyth.

i wouldn't say it was a brick- that shot may have been off by an inch. 1.2 may seem like a lot of time- but Brunson had to take a shot as soon as he felt he had one open. OG had one hell of a game- not only the tip in but the block on Fox right before that.

Barkley was 100% correct- Spurs played like they have not been coached at all. It's funny too- before this series, I had looked at the Spurs as a fun team and they seemed to be sort of a talented but easy team to like. I had not realized how dirty they play and what a P@@@y Wemby is- and man- the league is doing everything possible to make sure he is the face of the NBA.

I do like that the Knicks did come out last night and gave Wemby a good hard shot. When the Knick's put their big boy pants on - their defense can remind you of the old Knick's of Ewing/Oakley days.

A "brick" to me is when there is a hard bounce off the rim (vs a roll-off). Brunson basically chucked the ball and it bounced off the front rim and back towards the players in the paint. He has a lot of those this week. As it turns out (from WFAN) Coach Brown has the Knicks practice getting longer rebounds. Just like Hail Mary passes that bounces off the croeded players, Brown has guys look for ball a bit more to the side.

Google AI

"Knicks coach Mike Brown’s core practice rebound tip is to make a "multiple effort contest" by not stopping after the initial shot. He stresses that long shots result in long rebounds. Therefore, players must stay active in the play, hit their opponents first, and box out to prevent the ball from bouncing right back to the shooter...Brown frequently emphasizes this collective discipline, challenging his forwards to be "monsters on the offensive glass". This focus allows the Knicks to generate extra possessions and survive rough shooting stretches. The Ultimate Result: This exact coaching strategy was famously executed in TSN's NBA Finals Coverage when OG Anunoby tipped in an offensive rebound CBC's NBA Coverage to cap off the biggest rally in NBA Finals history."

Football and basketball are the 2 sports IMO that the outcomes or spreads can be manipulated with the easiest. Much more difficult to pull that off in baseball or hockey.

She's actually a pretty stout sports fan and has had a huge compound in New York City since 2014. She bought a couple of townhouses in Tribeca (Franklin St) and then added more for an over 50 million investment (practically owns her block). She has like 8 homes (with Tenn considered the main) but admits she got a carried away with NYC.

She likes the social scene with her other celeb friends (they aren't hanging in Nashville) and NYU gave her a degree. She's good friends with Jimmy Fallon who likes Knicks. She absorbed some of NYC's esoteric philosophies but she doesn't really beat people up with these as much as some think.

Her first hit songs were about high school football stars and her broker father was a big Philly sports fame (he's friends with Andy Reid) and she said she was an Eagle fan and had their jerseys in some of her videos. Now that she's with the meathead she's a KC fan of course. She really does like football and when games are over she can be seen getting excited after a win and robustly backslapping Pacheco and other players . She started going to Knicks games in 2014 and while not one of the dweebs at every game she goes regularly. Thankfully she's not a big baseball fan.

Thankfully she's never had much interest in baseball and I know Kelce not only follows the Cleveland Guardians but is a minority investor. I don't think she is a "follow the pitch count" sort of gal. She likes to jump around and hoot-n-holler

It's funny- it really seems that Wemby came into these playoffs as a kid that everyone loved and was just a unique talented player. But after the past two series- almost everyone is calling him out for being dirty, a cry baby, wearing diapers provided by the NBA, soft, and not a high basketball IQ...

That's married life in the celebrity sports world. Kelce had his own bobblehead with Cavs. His first dream was playing in the NBA. He's from Cleveland area and as you know played for Cincy . She wasn't going to wear Knicks stuff and get in news. I didn't see Kelce at the Knicks game so there's probably a little diplomacy going on. She's a very active fan and I doubt he would like the Ohio people seeing him sitting with a celebrating Tay-tay

Some who know the player say the leagues in Europe are dirty and he had to adjust. Its bizarre he got away with going mafia on Brunson. The ball wasn't even near the players

The consensus on Reddit is that Wemby is a key to the international leagues. People are like "The Knicks have been bad so long doesn't the NBA want the Knicks doing well? " The main answer is that the Garden is always full and making money even when Knicks are losing so Knicks aren't a priority and Wemby cant be ejected. A dude that long and skinny needs to be careful because an "accidental" Kick to those stick legs can be bad.

I’m just surprised by how soft knicks fans have gotten. The crying at every call last night was nuts, especially when they shot 4x more free throws at one point.

I almost always agree with you, but not so fast my friend. The first foul on KAT was phantom, and the second (overturn from original call on Wemby) was really bad too. KAT’s arm was not holding Wemby’s. There was obvious space for Wemby to pull his arm out. Missed goaltending immediately followed up by non call on obvious Wemby basket interference. Much much more from the first half last night, not to mention games 1-3.

I won‘t go as far as to say it’s a conspiracy. It’s probably just gross incompetence and unconscious protection of Wemby. But it has been very very tilted towards San Antonio this series.

There were a million bad calls on both, agree with the ones you mention. The flagrant elbows were both fair. Alvarado should have been called for a flagrant when he tried tackling wemby. Good hard basketball both ways imo. Sounds like the nba even admitted this was missed below, but plenty of examples on both sides. Too much whining

And get your damn fans off the floor 😂, especially Fat Joe
