Bet on what? Are you proposing a bet on whether Forbes was contacted? On whether Forbes is listening? On whether Forbes would seriously consider another offer? On whether Forbes is leaving?Wanna bet?

I differ there, right much. I think the more successful the program the more money you should receive (outside of MBB and FB). IMO we support entirely too many varsity sports.. I know that’s not popular but I think eventually if we want to compete at the top of MBB, FB and Baseball we’re going to have to cut some sports regardless of what conference we end up in.You don’t need to take from women’s basketball or any other program. Baseball donors need to do their job.
Baseball doesn’t generate a profit, so it makes sense why they don’t get a ton of rev share. Donors step up.
Almost 100% that all spots on the roster are now covered with full schollies....Why would they give more rev share to women's basketball? Baseball needs more money in revenue sharing no doubt. Greg would know is UNC funding 34 baseball scholarships? If so that's huge but if there is 800 thousand dollars available in revenue sharing then at the very least it should have been split evenly between baseball and women basketball.
Is that the metric deciding who gets rev share? Because women's basketball loses way more than any program on campus. It's that way in most ADs.You don’t need to take from women’s basketball or any other program. Baseball donors need to do their job.

On whether he leaves UNC for USC!Bet on what? Are you proposing a bet on whether Forbes was contacted? On whether Forbes is listening? On whether Forbes would seriously consider another offer? On whether Forbes is leaving?
Why is it more expensive to maintain? 15 players vs 34.I can see the argument for baseball receiving more than women’s basketball, but the reason women’s basketball loses more is because women’s basketball is just more expensive to maintain. They need more money to be successful. They lost 2 key players this offseason simply because they couldn’t afford to keep them.
The revenue figures are pretty identical.

It's more expensive because colleges have chosen for it to be.
I don’t think he leaves, there isn’t a guarantee he stays. There’s a risk or he would have already shut it down. Maybe UNC shouldn’t take the baseball program for granted. On whether he leaves UNC for USC!
They are the bell cow, they bring in most of the money to the AD.Why outside of Football ? They fail over and over
okay they make money-but ussually they contribute to the " common good" less than Basketball (mens)
Hearing anything?Probably so but that’s not something that will change overnight.
But, oddly, not the most profit. The football program brings big revenue, but is wildly expensive to run. Last year MBB showed a greater net profit. They are the bell cow, they bring in most of the money to the AD.

My wife is a little carolina grad & we live outside Columbia. If it is not bad already enough down here, this would be a gut punch. I have been obsessing and sick on my stomach since reading the news. I want to focus on tomorrow afternoon.I have no inside info regarding Forbes saying/going, but I wouldn’t be concerned about this.
He’s a Carolina guy through and through. They’ll figure out how to keep him happy.

Oh I see I wasn’t supposed to bad mouth Banghart. She’s been here since 2019 and has absolutely nothing to show for it. I guess she got Hapring though…Dang… why give Banghart more money to waste

We just paid him. He turned down $3 mil per year from “another” school. Pretty sure he is staying. Is Forbes listening to South Carolina in preparation for supers ???
He’s not.He just signed a contract extension this year why is our head coach entertaining other jobs when we got some big games this weekend
MAYBE, BARELY. And really only because ESPN and Vegas has continued to try and shove something that is not very entertaining for most sports folks down the general public's throat. I don't have any ill will toward women's bball at all but I hope ESPN goes bankrupt like NASCAR did trying to use supply side economics to promote it.Probably so but that’s not something that will change overnight.
Women’s college basketball is currently more popular than college baseball; thus, the NIL market is higher. More NIL/rev share is needed to maintain a successful women’s basketball team currently.
If just one thousand Diamond Heels fans give just $100 each that’s $100,000 more to baseball. Would that help? And will close by saying we need to figure a way, ANY WAY, to give Coach more than $500k in NIL or this run is going to be short lived and he could leave for the same reason O'Connor HAD to leave UVa. Lack of support for baseball. ECU has more NIL than we do. ECU!
They might be willing to spend more money but they don’t have more money.South Carolina has more money than us, not freaking out or anything but I think it would be silly to outright dismiss this.

When you have a coach as good as Coach forbes... OF COURSE he will be the choice of many many schools. Butthey are not HIS choice.True but I’m sure Forbes is the number 1 guy based off of that list
He did and Tommy had mentioned as well that FULLY FUNDING scholarships for baseball was the BIG DEAL. They get no rev share... but c'mon.. do you actually think SC baseball is taking rev share away from Football. It's a finite pot.I am almost 100
Percent sure Greg Barnes wrote an article a while back saying Carolina was fully funding every sport. If Carolina is fully funding baseball that would be the full 34 scholarships.

NIL is a completely separate discussion and UNC has a fair amount of NIL funds available to Forbes. I am not aware of Forbes being unable to bring in transfers due to NIL issues.
