It would have worked out wherever they went. It would have taken galactically bad coaching to tank their draft stock.
True, and you could probably say the same about most players in the NBA today.

Then you have RHJ, who thrived at RU enough to be seen as an eventual NBA player. To a lesser degree Cam also benefited from playing on a larger stage at RU before eventually going to the NBA after UConn.

My point is that any negativity about the Dylan/Ace year would be a reflection on Pike more than RU.

Yes, we lacked funding and leadership in the athletic department that year, but those things have largely been addressed by the university.

This. I was rooting for the Spurs to lose. I don’t think this is a positive for RU. Happy for Dylan, but perhaps the worst case scenerio for RU perception. Kratch isn’t wrong in this case:

Happy for Dylan, but no, this isn’t really a win win. The timing is actually pretty bad. RU does not look good here. The dust was finally settling on the 2024-25 disaster and now the media is going to encore the whole thing. The fact that it’ll be happening at the Garden is just the icing on the cake.
I merely said it was a win win for me. Also I haven’t heard anything but good from the tv media.

Other than the Knicks winning, you realize the best part of last night is that I didn't hear them mention Rutgers was a losing team with Dylan. Of course my Verizon went out for the first 15 minutes of the game, so maybe I missed it.
They blamed Pikiell for the loss! Ha ha. Debatable as to whether Dylan should have been pulled for Fox.

The post below has nothing to do with basketball but reminds me of the loser mentality some people love to revel in with the constant negative Rutgers narrative.

Ha. Agree, not sure I would have gone that route once they were behind, although Dylan had missed a few in a row and Fox was at least feeding others when he wasn't turning it over.

Very solid post/quote with a lot of truth to it.
