This is an extreme example, there’s no way I could take six children to the beach by myself and come back with all six. A more typical example is a blended family situation where your wife or ex-wife has a child in addition to yours. And there is an outing planned. Assuming your child and that child get along it would be a nice gesture to take them both. I’ve actually known that to happen among acquaintances.
