BB: Hampton visiting again this week

This is gonna sound like copium and that’s fine, but there’s not a significant enough drop off from Milan to Hampton to where I’d complain any about getting him if Milan is a miss

Bigger positional need than Milan actually. I’ve held a lot of negative feelings about this one due to his brother on/off the court but admittedly don’t know enough about Ryan to judge fairly.
He has announced he is staying in the 2027 class, correct?

Yes. Not sure if still commonplace, but many many many players in the past have declared they are not reclassing until AFTER the peach jam because if not, they are made ineligible to play. Could be off base here.

If Mom doesnt come and goes to Lewisville I dont think this guy is gonna offset the fan frustrations as much as some of you are stating.

If Pope blows this and Mom goes to Lewisville, there will be a loud mob demanding he be fired for malpractice.
He has, but he is also older than some 2026 players like Stokes and Holt. He’ll be 20 by the start of the 27/28 season.

Milan is good at one thing (though very important) and knows the college game well.

We're not getting MM. It's become as clear as day. I think we might have gotten him and things were going in that direction, but UL came in and had the agents rethinking everything. They likely spent the weekend working out details for UL and today we'll get the bad news. There is just no way Milan is having this hard of a time choosing between these two schools. It's all about the deal and the way the coach is selling him and his agent on development and playing time in their system.

Looks like we got worked over again by a recruit using us to get more money. I do not like this Era of college basketball.
As many have said, we need a smart GM who knows how to play this game.
Agents are only looking out for their cut of what they can get. We need to be hard nosed about what we will do with money on a couple of these 5* egos.

If he reclasses you don't see the difference between a kid who should be a HS Senior and a 4th year senior?
Maybe. But ask yourself why UK is not the destination these kids want and using other schools to get the offer they want from us? It’s Pope. It has to be.
That's how I see it, but for Pope who wants to "shoot 30+ threes a game" I just think Milan is much more important. Especially with a backcourt that, while talented, have yet to prove they can be consistent 3 point makers at the level you'd want or need them to be. His best players at UK have also been transfers that, like you said, know the college game well and, more importantly, have sat under the learning tree of good coaches.
Maybe Hampton can fill that role for us at the 3. All we can do is hope at this point.

Really not worried. Keegan Brown is an ace at working with agents and I'm sure he'll get a killer JMI approved deal soon. Mark Fox is also helping where he can. Go cats! Remember 1996? BBN!
There’s a plethora of freshman from last year that outperformed him. Maybe not by shooting % but with just about every other metric. I’m not saying there’s no difference, but impact COULD (and that’s hypothetical) be similar
Why the need for so many damn visits? Other schools sign players in like 30 minutes once it's determined it's the right situation mutually. If Hampton wants to be the McBride for the Momcilovic whiff, why the **** does he need a visit? Just ******* commit.
That’s what I’m trying to get at. The end all be all to this team will not be a taller, less athletic, Collin Chandler, especially if the NIL number being floated around is anywhere near accurate.
Between this group of gems and Cal's last crew with "Last Call" Coleman and Bruiser...it'd really be nice to have a coaching staff at KENTUCKY that is not a total laughingstock. I don't think that's asking too much
Won’t matter, it’s likely Pope won’t be here next season. Focusing on a player that’s a year off on the horizon is completely pointless
