“Same regular season type of baseball team” except not because GT never has pitching and that’s why they lose regionals
I agree GT should be fine, but they have started freaking out a bit:
Does Auburn have any pitching left? Can Milwaukee do the unthinkable and beat Auburn once out of possibly 2 games?
Posted in another thread but personally would much rather play USC, USC is 2-11 in games against teams in the top 50 in RPIUSC just hammering the ball. Formidable. I'd rather play A&M, but I think SC offense outpaces tomorrow whatever limitations they'll have with pitching staff. They're grooving. Anyone with observations of how good UT and UGA looked for the regionals?
eta - maybe I'm speaking too soon. still in 5th. usc looks hard to beat tho

Oregon State (Midweek) L 4-12
UCSB (Midweeks): Split W 7-6 and L 1-5
UCLA: Got Swept 4-12, 8-9, 4-10
Nebraska: Got swept 7-8, 2-12(F/7), 6-16 (F/8)
Oregon: Lost Series W 2-1 (F/11), L 3-4, L 5-6 (F/14)
UCLA (B10 Tournament): L 5-7
They are really hot right now, but A&M is a lot scarier IMO
Also helps that Texas got to face the Sisters of The Poor in their regionalBoth Texas and Georgia looked really good, as expected
Not off to a good start in game 1…Can Milwaukee do the unthinkable and beat Auburn once out of possibly 2 games?
I agree GT should be fine, but they have started freaking out a bit:
The difference is that GT did it primarily with offense, and Carolina relied more heavily on pitching and defense.
P.S. And GT must have won a Super in 2006 because the Jackets made it to the CWS--with us, Clemson and Miami
5 not 6.So 10 regionals have been clinched, with 6 more to be decided today. The 10 regional champs are:
Cal Poly
Georgia
UNC
Texas
Alabama
Little Rock
Oregon
Ole Miss
Mississippi State
Kansas
So of the regional champs so far, it’s 6 SEC teams, 1 ACC, 1 Big Ten, and then Cal Poly and Little Rock.
Today’s championship games:
FSU/St John’s - Noles have to win twice
GT/Oklahoma
Auburn/Milwaukee
Florida/Troy
Kentucky/West Virginia
Texas A&M/USC
It’s unlikely the SEC will win all of those, but wild they’ve got 6 regional champs already and 5 more teams playing for championships today. Could have as many as 11 teams in the Supers. Tennessee was the only SEC team who made the NCAA tournament and didn’t advance to at least the regional final.
You’re right. Counted Kansas as SEC in error. Will edit.5 not 6.
OK State-Bama? St Mary’s-UCLA? WVU-UK? St John’s-FSU? Ole Miss-ASU? Texas St-USC? UCLA-VT? Ark-Kansas? Little Rock games have been fun… gonna have to disagree with you hereThe other games have largely been duds. WCWS was much more exciting.

Welp. The door has certainly opened for UNC. Just need to step through it.@GregBarnes hehehe

FB/BB are the determining factors for that decision, but I think the fit for most programs is with the SEC, regardless. This proves out the point that if we jump conferences and value the baseball program, we cannot go to the Big Ten.
I stopped cheering to face a specific team in the Supers after last year. Both teams are good. Our pitching is well set up. Let's line up and play.Who would we rather face in the supers? I’m torn
Touché on last year…I stopped cheering to face a specific team in the Supers after last year. Both teams are good. Our pitching is well set up. Let's line up and play.
One thing to note is USC's ace is a lefty with a 1.85 ERA (Mason Edwards) but he struggled Saturday vs Lamar and there's a chance he throws some again today. I think we'd want that to happen if they win. It would probably make him unavailable to start if we play Friday and may have a cumulative effect on him next week.
