Wide right is now in the Arsenal lore. What a crappy way to lose the Championship.🙁

The sport won today because Arsenal’s crappy style of play this season wasn’t good enough to beat the defending champs in this tournament, although it almost did. That Arsenal won the Premier League by scoring a lot on set plays just tells you how below average that league was this season, and yeah, I know that Villa and Palace won European trophies, which they should’ve have just based on economics.

You do realize they were a pk away from winning both the PL and champions league while your team barely survived relegation right?
Yeah, but they didn’t because sometimes you need to score more than one goal to win a game, especially against a team like PSG.

Arsenal won the Premier League and was undefeated in regulation in the Champions League. Would it be better if they found a way to score more goals? Sure. But even PSG couldn’t score from the field against Arsenal. It wasn’t good enough, too bad, but they came damn close. Just in the same way 1978 Penn State's performance against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl wasn’t good enough.

“Close but no cigar” goes down a lot better with the Premier League in your pocket. Fun fact about me: Besides being PSU football, I’m a lifelong Georgetown basketball fan. This is the easiest championship game loss for me to swallow, by a wide margin.

And that was a “wide right” margin to boot! 😁

Another fun fact: I taught at a school that pulled students in from all over the country and students who I had never taught before would come to my office and laugh in my face after a big Georgetown loss. Just putting that out there, apropos of nothing.

Remember my son is also an Arsenal supporter so glad he got to see one of his teams get a championship.
I’m sure he’s also very thankful for the constant abuse you’ve been giving him since 3 pm yesterday.

Huh, I was wondering why you were getting soft, got my answer lol.

He is a new dad and I want to be able to see my grandson so I went easy on him. He is also in the club with me as a Bills and Knicks fan and he predicts those teams will be champs this year!😁
