Big Game James to blame

Last week, I met a couple who were Va Tech grads. They were crowing about getting BGJ as their coach. In my mind, I was thinking, “I’d love to see you 5 years from now and see how you feel”.

1. He does good enough to leave for a better job as soon as one comes available.
2. The exact opposite happens

Only you would reach such an illogical and incorrect conclusion.

To wit,

1) James Franklin’s employment was terminated because he got lazy and quit caring. Players complained to other coaches and Kraft that BGJ had seemingly checked out.

2) No such accusations were ever levied against Campbell by his former ISU players or assistant coaches

3) BGJ was hired by VoTech after being rightfully fired by Penn State.

4) Campbell was rightfully hired by Penn State after a rigorous and deliberate vetting process by Krafty Kraft.

Either way Franklin rides into the sunset an independently wealthy man.....assurred that generations of his family will never want for financial security. Meanwhile, peons here will insist they could have done better.....they just chose not to.
I'd also wager that by that time the BWICAC will have soured on somewhere between 1 and 3 additional coaches.

So BGJ is Big Grandpa James to you?

Only on this board could a former player's sex tape being released turn into a fight over a former head coach.

Of course. Whatever makes you happy. Kudos for being clever and creative.
Truce. We are both Penn State fans. I actually don’t hate Franklin. He did some good things here. Did he frustrate me? Plenty. He got us to the doorstep of the NC game. I did think it was time for a change. One thing I have learned from having an interest in UK basketball due to my mom’s side of the family bleeding blue. You can replace Calipari but you may not like the replacement either. The landscape of college sports has changed.

I was stirring the pot a bit. Apologies. Not a good thing to do on a message board. Overall, I just want Penn State to win and be competitive.

There’s no better job than PSU because of us, and people who look like us.

😞
It still amazes me how many coaches took extensions and stayed in their current positions, rather than come to the land of milk and honey and work for the builder of football dynasties (Pat Kraft).

Once again, I have no problem with Franklin being terminated. He wasn't coming back to PSU this year under any circumstance. My beef is with Kraft who made stupid promises about excellence at the highest level, completely Fd up the search and squandered a recruiting class that puts this program in a spiral of extreme portal dependency indefinitely. Then puffed his chest out about NIL resources that still don't have PSU in the top 10. Franklin was 100 percent correct that the scope and timing of the stadium renovation was a problem. Coach Campbell will have a hard time living up to Kraft's stated standard. I have no animosity toward him what so ever. I do think that the constant knocks on CJF are silly and sophomoric.

Dear Dumb old Widower,

It scares me to know that you once taught innocent high school students and that you don’t even know proper paragraphical punctuation.

It’s not to late for you to learn, Franklin Fan Boy

This is how it’s done when championships are the standard. This is the big leagues.

Say what you wish about me. It matters not one iota. But I'm conflicted about the character of any individual that would attempt to slur a person using the death of his wife. Do you find humor in that?

What about those who slur Joe. Where's the humor in that?
Are you questioning me about that? How is that relevant to my response? I for one, am the biggest Joe acolyte.
Perhaps it would be entertaining to see how many here are Joe but fans and also relish grinding CJF (BGJ) into the ground.
Joe but as in "I love Joe, but....."
There is a disconnect IMO with those who wish to puff out their collective chests about the "blue blood" status of Penn State football and then in subsequent posts find fault with Joe. Because quite simply, there isn't one without the other.
The mere fact that Joe's name is not associated with the field in some meaningful fashion tells me everything I need to know about Penn State leadership.

There isn't any leadership. Just conniving schemers.
