Good start! Folger looking great so far. Finding some holes for a 5-0 lead. Only negatives are a lot of runners left on and 3 of those 4 ABs against Norby were real bad. Keep putting the pressure on! Going to have to keep scoring.

Does ECU coach care about the health of his players...or is he like the Oregon State coach who would pitch guys until their arms fell off?
from keith law's Norby blurb: "ECU badly overworked him last May, having him throw 68 pitches in a start on May 20, then throw in relief on the 24th and the 25th, and then rolling him out for 116 pitches on May 30... I’m concerned about that workload, especially as he’s on the smaller side."

We weren’t going to shut them out, so good job by Folger bouncing back. I really want to get Norby’s pitch count up, because their bullpen is wiped out. Getting some runs would be nice too.

If your Forbes, I hope you are managing by this one with the assumption you may not get many more runs. 1/3 through the game and we are up 4. Boaz has looked really good but I still think it’s a shorter leash now heading through the order a second time. Rose is a great middle relief option and Walker is super fresh. Get 18 outs before you give up 4 runs. That’s very doable.

2 years in a row they’ve taxed him.. it’s showing in the spin on his breaking ball from all the work the last two weeks.

That doesn’t seem like “badly overworked” to me, depending on how much he threw in those relief outings. Of course pro guys think you’re supposed to throw 75 pitches every 5 days until you’re in the majors.

That’s the definition of over working, it’s about a lot more than the just PC. What they’ve done with him the last two weeks is showing right now.

also from that blurb: "He’s hit 12 right-handed batters this year, eight of those on sliders he tried to throw at their back feet."

make it 14 now, lol
