He’s the difference between a 7-10 seed and a first round exit and the potential to reach the Elite Eight.
I can DEFINITELY agree with this and I certainly hope we end up with him. With the money he will be making, he will be under TREMENDOUS pressure to do only one thing ... make threes at a high percentage clip. I sure hope is a consistent enough shooter to do exactly that, much like Brea did. Pure shooters can shoot consistently ... most of the time. His performance against Tennessee to end the season is concerning, but I hope that is simply an outlier, as he played 33 minutes, scoring 6 points on 2-9 shooting. Of course, we know Tennessee is a great defensive team and they clearly were out to stop him. They can do that ...

As I've said here before, I hope the team is committed to getting him at least eight (8) threes a game, if not more. He needs to take that many shots !!
He is a legitimate three-point shooter, with a 35.9%, 39.6% and 48.7% progression to a 42.8% career average. Hopefully, he can take at least three hundred (300) threes for us this season and hit them at a 45% or better rate. That would really stretch the defense and open up driving lanes for Diallo, Wilkins and Morton, to say the least.

I won't call you crazy because I think we will get him also. It looks that way right? I hope we get him.

But I just can't go against proof we've been given about Pope. Am I being negative? Sure. Kind of on purpose hoping we get him. Hoping Pope proves me wrong.

But he's shown us countless times how this plays out. And I just can't ignore the past. We should get him. I guess we'll find out soon.

Believe it or not I want Pope to go 40-0 and dominate. I'd cheer my butt off..but he's sucked so I say he sucks. I'm not the one to sit here and give the last two seasons a pass because of injuries.. the glaring disadvantages Kentucky is at right now arent due to injuries.

I don't care if Butler and robinson were not injured we still have this weak minded coach on the sideline and his teams play weak. No injuries will change that. But again I can change my view on Pope if he gives reason.

Cheers to hoping we land Mom. I just don't see it happening until it does....now pick one little sentence I said and let's debate it for weeks like that one sentence is the only thing I said....lol only kidding..it's exhausting going back and forth with some of these goobers.
I agree Popes teams have played soft. I think he would be a good XO coach with great players.
I don’t believe for one second it’s him as a person why we have struggled recruiting. I have despised Barnhart for 15 years as I traveled and saw others stadiums and arenas. How different UK was compared to their gameday vs ours. Our horrendous music geared towards 12 years old.
Mitch’s reluctance to NIL, corruption and JMI deal has killed UK.
Just look at Calipari since leaving Mitch. His last class here was the first ever he had no one drafted. His first class at Arkansas produced the National freshman of the year and another first rounder. His second class also has big time difference makers. He wasn’t getting those players here because our Administration, NIL and structure stink. No other school has given NIL to a for profit company. No one. Just Us. Media rights yes. NIL. No one.
Calipari was and is the greatest recruiter of our time. Since NIL he was pulling in weak, frail flops here. He’s killing it again at Arkansas.
It isn’t Pope. It’s our administration that stinks at recruiting. JMO.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Hawthorne. He ended up ranked #33 overall out of high school and was a 4 star recruit. he redshirted not because of skills... but to put on weight and get stronger, which he did...he's now at 190. His wingspan is 7'2-7'3. He's a got length, is great at catch and shoot 3s. He's going to look great if he can get space, shooting, cutting, blocking shots, running the floor. But if its physical and crowded he will be ineffective. Since Diallo and Wilkins get in the paint I think they could collapse defenses and kick it out to him on the wing for a open 3.
I worry that if our frontline players are not capable of battling in the SEC, it’s going to be a long season. We can’t win anything with Moreno as our only tough guy. We have Kepnang, but he’s offensively challenged.

Keegan Brown (Kentucky assistant) also just unfollowed milan

If true all you could maybe hope for is that it was actually impermissible somehow for Brown to follow Milan and he learned that late since he’s new in his role.

If he actually was following him and then just up and stopped following him entirely of his own choice with no regulations involved, that could only mean we lost him with no ifs, and, or buts.

This is the one time it’s other teams scrambling before the official announcement comes. Glad to see the shoe on the other foot for once and we finally landed the Big Fish we were after.

Sorry not sorry to be that guy, but how long does a “done deal” have to be a done deal, before it’s officially a, “done deal”?

A major Red Flag for me, is when UK “insiders” start talking about how, “UK has the highest offer on the table”, with “X amount of $$$ offered more”, than so and so other team, and then hours more pass with no new news…

Once again… Haven’t we been burnt by these same “UK insiders”, many times before?

I don’t understand the Hawthorne predictions?
Based on what? It’s a BBN phenomena that our most important player is on the bench.
I hope he’s great for us, but realistically don’t think a 160 pound Brandon Hawthorne is going to be a SEC caliber player.
His name is Braydon. He was listed 190 lbs. last year and it has been reported that he has gained 20 lbs.

This guy is playing everybody. A 6'08 forward who can shoot lights out beyond the arc but cannot bang inside or guard anybody. Yet, UK UL and Zona are lined up to pay him $7-8 [?] BIG a year.

Not from what I'm seeing. It looks like he was listed 190 as a recruit which should mean he is now up to 210 lbs.
