We scored in all but 1 inning, so no...Their team era is almost 7 and they've hit only 32 HRs as a team. I worry more about waking up each morning.

That was the Sunday game. We'll likely be seeing the Friday starter tomorrow. He pitched 5 scoreless before we got to him in the 6th.

I expect to win, probably easily, but I'm not looking at the 26-0 game as if that's typical.

I'll go on the record as saying Stone in game 1 is the right move, brilliant. If it fails, I'll be a man and just internalize my anger, might blame those bastard Indians, might kick a puppy, but I'll never admit it was wrong.

If we can't beat the 4 seed with our #2, we aren't going very far anyway. That's always been my rationale. I'm glad to see we have a coach willing to do the "right" thing.

The one negative is that if you win the Regional and go to the Super Regional, I don't think we are going to want Duke Stone pitching the first game of the SR. So that means someone will be pitching Game 1 of the SR on short rest. I was kind of thinking start with RM and then go TV and Stone which would let you keep the same rotation for the next weekend assuming you survive.
But if you pitch Tico tomorrow and blow out Lipscomb, but then screw around and lose on Saturday, there is potentially no next weekend to worry about. Winning one game does us no good. Winning three games this weekend is all that matters right now.

Plenty of rest to go TV, Ryan & they Stone in SR. This is how you manage a pitching staff in postseason. We’re just not used to it because our coaches have mismanaged it for decades.
This can also major league backfire too. Duke has a bad outing, our hitting happens to be average, and Lipscomb plays well, we could be 0-1 to start the tourney and in a really big hole. I understand why most want to do this, but it's not without a lot of risk.

I just hope Cincinnati throws their ace today (which they should). That guy is good. His stats are almost a mirror image of Tico's. Get him out of the way for the regional, get ourselves into the winner's bracket, and I think we're in really good shape to win the regional, no matter who wins between UL/Cincy.

The risk of Lipscomb beating any of our pitchers is very small. We’re not losing this game today.

I think Cincy & SW Louisiana both have to pitch their ace.

I expect Duke to settle down again after their big homer in the third inning.**

If Lipscomb beats us with virtually any pitcher we have on staff we have on staff then we shouldn’t bother showing up
