Does anyone else know the board name behind which Landon Tengwall posts?

We all know he lurks in the shadows and borrows content … much like Scott Van Pelt.

i guarentee you , Sark does not answer to the AD, its a straight line to the president
So you think that if Sark wants to hire a low-level assistant he goes to the president?

Big Game wants a raise, he goes to the AD first. Big Game doesn't like the decision so he breaks the chain of command. Only works if Kraft didn't cover his bases. He did and Big Game became a dead man walking.

Then think about 1994; PSU was deemed to be the NC by the NY Times, which PSU added to the back of the scoreboard in the south end zone before the south upper decks were added. Since it was a mythical NC back in 1994, PSU has every right to claim that as a NC season. Also, Paterno had rings given to that team that has the #1 on the face; I have a replica of that ring.
1994 was a great team. That's still 32 seasons ago. Let's claim it. That makes 3.
Alabama 16
Michigan 10
Ohio State 9

USC 9

I'm sure Kraft has a plan to catch up. We are witnessing "excellence at the highest level."

Sark should ask Chris Del Conte what would happen to him if he went over Del Conte's head when Del Conte turned down his request for a raise. That's ultimately what got Big Game fired.
Other than the fact that's not what got BGJ fired, nor did he go over the AD's head for a raise .... you absolutely nailed it.

No Sark hires who he wants to hire. I don’t know who has to rubber stamp it most likely the president office. N Big Game James didn’t answer the Kraft. Kraft may have thought he did but he didn’t. College football coaches and men’s BB coaches answer to the prez! That’s the way it is. The AD may do some ground work but especially a Jimmy Sexton client, ain’t no coach answering to the AD

Go CyLions beat Buffalo
Can I ask you a serious question, because you seem to have a hang-up with how many ISU transfers are on the current roster. What did you expect Campbell to do based on the fact that he only became head coach in early December? A lot of his ISU players always were going to follow him to PSU. In fact, any coach whom PSU had hired always was going to attract a large number of his players from his previous school because it was a neccessity.

If PSU had hired the JMU coach, would you be saying Go Dukes, Beat Buffalo, because he would've brought a lot of his players with him? It's become a tiresome mantra.

So the president of any major football (or basketball) power is intimately familiar with and involved in the details of the program? And the football coach discusses everything with the president before the AD gets involved? Don't think so.

ADs don't make high-level hiring and firing decisions with out the approval of the president. But there is a chain-of-command and it almost always goes through the AD, especially upward

But in your world, Bendapudi made the decision to fire Big James before hearing anything from Kraft first. You might want to consider patching some of those holes in your boat.

nope not the way it works, sorry. The AD is there to make sure the HC has his coffee in the AM, and to pick up his Amazon packages. What is there to discuss? The HFC is going to do, what he is going to do.

So Bendapudi unilaterally fired Big Game and hired Campbell, all while Kraft was working on his golf game? Gotcha.

No she assigned Kraft the task. She approved Campbell and she , provided she is still here, will fire Campbell. Kraft just has to make sure he has his coffee in the AM and the buses run on time

Let’s cut to the chase. Did or did not Kraft make a recommendation to the president that Franklin be fired? That’s basically (as I see it) what @RolexKong is asking. Of course the president was the one whose job it was to fire or retain Franklin, that’s the way it works everywhere; unless the president gives him that call, it’s never the AD who makes a decision to fire the HFC. You’re saying that the president was the one who made the decision to fire JF and she then gave Kraft the responsibility of giving JF the news, that is also SOP in universities, you follow the chain of command. The question being asked is did Neeli on her own make the decision to fire Franklin, without input from Kraft?

No he’s stating Kraft made the decision that it was his call. She had no input

The players are going to kill this sport (coaches' salaries will help).

The "adults" were in charge. They offered opportunities to participate in collegiate sports to their students. They formed the teams, the conferences, the other associations. They governed it all. They saw the opportunity for a pay day, and they took it. Oh boy, did they take it. They milked every last drop of money they could from these kids ... and they rewarded them with the realistic opportunity to get a sociology degree for their efforts. They had every chance to, at any point in time, make the game less "professional" and focus on the academic/amateur aspects of the student-athlete. Because there was money to be had, they did the opposite of that. They had every chance to head off any compensation/rights disputes by setting things up properly, and addressing the needs and concerns of the players. They had all the power. Instead, they kept the money-making machine humming, and kept biggering, and biggering, and biggering. They set the system up like they did, because it was the most convenient for them to produce maximum revenue for themselves, while restricting the rights of the people who actually gave the product its entertainment value.

So, when the players finally stand up for themselves, and there's absolutely no structure in place to address their issues, leading to a complete wild west situation ... it's the PLAYERS' fault?!?

Holy crap.

Just when I think I can't be any more surprised by how myopic and just plain wrong-minded people can be, they can still let me down.

because it's only been 40 years since we met "the standard"
I count 94. We were told we would be humbled when we joined the BIG. Instead in our second year we destroyed this conference and could have scored 80 in multiple games. At scum we were poised to go up 17-0 but a phantom holding call held us down.
I've never seen an offense like our 94 team before or since and if Joe kept the pedal to the floor the numbers would have been staggering. And in retrospect he should have because in the end we got F-ed.
Kijana could have had 2500 plus yards but he didn't play the second half of most games. We slaughtered USC 35-0 at the half and Kijana didn't see the field in the second half except for perhaps a series.

Sark is just kind of out of control right now--even talking about how their 2s or 3s would go 12-0 against TTU's schedule. Hopefully not but maybe he is drinking again
