Hoover has always been a great venue, but I wouldn't mind seeing take a western spur every once in a while. Globe Life is an incredible venue and easy to get to. Plus, would be a destination point for vacationing families with 6-Flags and Hurricane Harbor on the premises.
ESPN owns the championship and the playoffs, right? Shouldn't be hard to figure it out.
Just dont see it happening. Or why it should. Do you really think that would be a better site? Much Longer trip for most of the big baseball schools (MSU, UM, LSU, Bama, Auburn, Vsndy, Tennessee, South Carolina). SEC has gotten burned bad when they tried moving if from Hoover before. I don’t think there’s any appetite for trying it again for a site that at best would likely be slightly worse overall, and at worst much worse.
Maybe a good thing for us we didn’t find out the last couple of years. The results on the field for the games that were played the last couple of years don’t look good for the sec.
It’s not like it’s been a huge amount of time. Plus the SEC has made some terrible coaching hires, so they aren’t maximizing.
If Georgia flops again this year, time to get worried. But they’re pretty stacked.
But all were conference games. Indiana last year played 10 total B1G games and won all of them. Michigan 3 years ago did the same. Last year, Ohio State played 11 P4 games (including one against an SEC team) before the playoff.
They made the final 4 last year. Beating UGA along the way. Who else would you pick?
Not going to happen. Dumb business decision to eliminate half your fans & create an immediate direct competitor. Would also cause blue bloods to lose way more games, which they don't want.
We're talking about a 24 team playoff. That means a league with less than 60 teams ain't happening
Single elimination format isn't too bad. Most teams only play a couple of games ( I think this year 1 team played 4 games in 5 days and 1 played 3 in 3 days). If we could get more games in the regular season by cancelling it, I'd be all for it.
Disagree, its a fun tournament that has its place. Easy for most of the fanbases to get too
