Hottest? Easy to be hot when your competition sucks. The haven't played a good team in quite a while.Think 9 is about right. Southern Miss was ranked No. 8 prior to the tournament and had a Top 12 RPI. They’ve been one of the hottest teams in the country lately and are playing as well as anyone right now. Hard to argue they aren’t the best baseball team in the state at the moment.
Glad it wasn't Wake for selfish reasons.By my checklist, it's either Cincinnati or Wake Forest as our 2 seed

Since yesterday? When we beat Troy and Louisiana?Hottest? Easy to be hot when your competition sucks. The haven't played a good team in quite a while.
USM is solid no question, just not an overall 9 seed. And would've taken the two seed in Hattiesburg before the brackets were announced.Committee did a nice job with the seeding IMO. I don't even have qualms with USM. They had a really nice season.
Why would the committee send Lipscomb to us? Makes no sense
This. I mean in context I don't think anyone can say "overall" that USM is better than A&M, which were a few seeds worseUSM is solid no question, just not an overall 9 seed. And would've taken the two seed in Hattiesburg before the brackets were announced.
They probably forgot that we played a weekend series, or never knew. Why would the committee send Lipscomb to us? Makes no sense
Yes, hottest. They’ve beaten the teams in front of them. You can make fun of the competition if you want, but when they’ve played good teams, they’ve won most of those games too. Guess the question is, how would you feel if we were in their bracket?Hottest? Easy to be hot when your competition sucks. The haven't played a good team in quite a while.
Is AI now picking the brackets? Very little storyline matchups. Going just by the numbers it appears. They probably forgot that we played a weekend series, or never knew.
Back handed we are so much better than you we weren’t competing for host spot. Nice.Congrats on hosting in Oak’s first year. I didn’t understand all the strays that USM was catching from State fans on social media and message boards. We were never in competition with yall for a host spot. I always thought it was pretty obvious that KU and WVU were the weaker hosts. Was a little surprised at Oregon at 11.

Somebody does not watch much baseball.
No, that’s not what I meant at all. I believed our host profile was objectively better, and the committee agreed. I also always thought State was a safe host at somewhere between 12-14. If State and USM played a 3 game series, I’m not sure who would win. Maybe 60/40 State.Back handed we are so much better than you we weren’t competing for host spot. Nice.
UGA is a lock. They could pitch underhanded to us and would run rule us in athens, leaving all that extra time to go street racing.

If McPherson rounds into shape I think we have a puncher’s chanceNothing about the first 4 games says that's true.
But I'm all for the reverse jinx effort.
USM #9 is a joke. I’ve got no problem with them hosting but they should be in the 13-16 range.Committee did a nice job with the seeding IMO. I don't even have qualms with USM. They had a really nice season.
they never even played the 2nd best team in their mediocre conference.Hottest? Easy to be hot when your competition sucks. The haven't played a good team in quite a while.
Yeah, those aren’t good teams.Since yesterday? When we beat Troy and Louisiana?
If we couldn’t host, I’d feel pretty good about going to Hattiesburg, Oregon, or Lincoln.Yes, hottest. They’ve beaten the teams in front of them. Yeah, those aren’t good teams.
Well they don’t suck for sure. But I don’t think they’d finish in top 10 of the sec.I don't understand when you say stuff like this. If a team is an at large in the NCAA tournament they are clearly a good college baseball team considering how many teams play in D1.
Teams in the Top 16 are elite or very good, and then there are plenty of good teams who can occasionally beat the Top 16 teams.

I feel good about TV vs either Saturday. Not sure I feel good about Stone vs anybody Sunday. But we should hopefully have a lot of arms available to bullpen it.Probably not.
I sure hope we don't get the very good version of Lafayette or Cincinnati this weekend.

He’s done it at least twice recently at Virginia. And I can’t imagine a situation where it’s more needed to hold your #1 starter than this regional. I’ll be shocked if TV starts Friday. And extremely disappointed.I really hope Oak holds TV. Be interesting to see his moves this weekend. I expect to like them better than the most recent MSU HC.
Yeah, those aren’t good teams.

USM has played 1 game against a top 30 RPI team since March 24th (Ole Miss on 4/14)USM #9 is a joke. I’ve got no problem with them hosting but they should be in the 13-16 range.

For the most part, but Oregon at 11 is the WTF of the century. They at least got the Top 16 teams correct, even if the order was q bit off.Committee did a nice job with the seeding IMO. I don't even have qualms with USM. They had a really nice season.

USM is a good baseball and should probably host, but they would be 13-15 if their AD was not on the committee.
Truth be told - we probably would not be hosting if Strickin & Alford weren't on the committee.
They are playing Sunbelt teams as well as any Sunbelt team in the country right now.Think 9 is about right. Southern Miss was ranked No. 8 prior to the tournament and had a Top 12 RPI. Why? GT may be better but we are 0-4 against UGA. MSU lost to them at home and at a neutral site so going to their place doesn't give me any warm and fuzzy feeling.Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd much rather play UGA than GT.
If we get there let's see how many HRs we can hit in their launching pad.
