You think Milan was worried about a freaking freshman .Definitely biggest news in weeks. This raises our Milan chances
Let’s hope so. I’m certainly not getting my hopes up again. I did that early in the portal season.I do think Milan will come to UK. Seems like the money is there and he would be the perfect fit for the guys around him.
More like a money thing probably rather than PT. It’s going to take a large check to pull Milan. You think Milan was worried about a freaking freshman .
We need this to hurry up then before more money opens up for teams with the new foreign policy that just hit.I do think Milan will come to UK. Seems like the money is there and he would be the perfect fit for the guys around him.
You think we got Moreno new offer, plus 2 4-6mm checks?IDK why this news is so great to some of you. We need multiple stars. Milan is a must but with only Milan, the team goes from 10-12 SEC to 5-7. Still need an elite bucket getter.
Doesn't matter what we have, I am looking in terms of roster needs to be a "real" team next year. Wilkins is the next Max Abmas to me -- most of you are a lot higher on him than I am. IMO we need a better player in that role to be as good as the current top 3 SEC.You think we got Moreno new offer, plus 2 4-6mm checks?
You’re talking 13-15 mm for 3 players, let alone you’re going to have to manage Kam/Hawthorne.
Your bucket getter is Wilkins.
If you wind up with Milan and Moreno, that’s enough complementary talent to compete with anyone. There will be no excuses for Pope not to win with that lineup.Doesn't matter what we have, I am looking in terms of roster needs to be a "real" team next year. You are correct that we may not be able to afford 2 more stars, but that's a problem that will quickly need to get fixed if Kentucky is going to keep being Kentucky.
He'll come in 5th TOPS with the current roster + Milan. I would bet on 7th. SEC. Laugh now but I called last year's team for what it was while everyone (including the media) was hyped. If you wind up with Milan and Moreno, that’s enough complementary talent to compete with anyone. I agree. I think we need two more players besides MM who’d be the best two players on the team to be really competitive. We’ll be lucky to get one more guy. Hopefully they’ll all play together and have a great year.IDK why this news is so great to some of you. We need multiple stars. Well, it is what it is. Pope calls the shots and it’s his job on the line. I’m not sweating anything personally. My job is to fan and if he falls short and needs replacement, we will do just that. FWIW I disagree about the placement being peak 5th but w/e it really doesn’t matter either way. My expectations are Elite Eight or bust. He'll come in 5th TOPS with the current roster + Milan. With you 100%. Long as he doesn't luck into a S16 and we have to go through this ALL OVER AGAIN.Well, it is what it is. Pope calls the shots and it’s his job on the line. I don’t agree. I don’t think a S16 would necessarily mean he gets retained. I think a S16 + a strong regular season would keep him but if he were to “luck into a S16”, I genuinely think he’d be gone. Idc what the contract renewal stipulations are. I think the boosters would make a change. With you 100%. Long as he doesn't luck into a S16 and we have to go through this ALL OVER AGAIN.
I would hope so, for the program's sake.I don’t agree. I don’t think a S16 would necessarily mean he gets retained. For you and me, Kentucky basketball is this much of an investment:I would hope so, for the program's sake.
Milan to UK and Hampton to UK next season it seems
Where are you seeing that Moreno got a new offer? You think we got Moreno new offer, plus 2 4-6mm checks?

Was that prediction before or after the Lowe injury. Were you able to see into the future to know JQ would not be available for the SEC slate and Williams would suffer a broken foot when you forecasted this? He'll come in 5th TOPS with the current roster + Milan. I would bet on 7th. SEC. Laugh now but I called last year's team for what it was while everyone (including the media) was hyped.
9 digit investment for some boosters? You do realize that is 100 million? For you and me, Kentucky basketball is this much of an investment:
- Our time and energy.
- Visiting games
- Whatever 2 or 3 digit number most of us give to the collectives monthly.
For some boosters, Kentucky basketball is a 7, 8, or 9 digit investment. Those people aren’t playing around. They have enough skin in the game to make things happen when it’s time. That’s why I’ve always found the message board hysteria about firing the coach kind of ludicrous. There are people who live this stuff who never have and never will allow Kentucky basketball to remain dormant.
My prediction -- that we'd be worse than last year -- was before the Purdue game, actually. I was never of the opinion Lowe was a net positive. JQ everyone could see the Sharpe situation coming from a mile away, that wasn't really a shocker. Was that prediction before or after the Lowe injury. lol, yeah probably didn’t think that one out. Let’s just say we get the point of it even if it wasn’t precise9 digit investment for some boosters? You do realize that is 100 million?
This is patently false. You honestly believe we were better off with no true point guard at all as opposed to a third team all conference player? The everyone knew it was a Sharpe situation is just bull and there is still no factual reason to believe that is what ultimately occurred. My prediction -- that we'd be worse than last year -- was before the Purdue game, actually. You can say it's false, but it's literally what I said before the season started. This is patently false. You may have said it. I'll not dispute that but you lucked into being right due to injuries and a crooked call against Auburn. If Oweh, Lowe, Williams were healthy all season plus getting JQ back at midseason we could have reasonably won 4 to 7 more games. You can say it's false, but it's literally what I said before the season started.
Auburn, yes. Injuries, I disagree. Team got noticeably better with a tighter rotation. Getting the mighty Kam Williams back proved net neutral at best. Injuries forced Pope to play Oweh and Aberdeen for 35+, something the bennies clamored for (at least for Oweh) since the start. You may have said it. While I find it highly illogical that losing key players to injuries would not result in a negative impact to our record I will acknowledge that it is not possible to say for certain. We have both been able to state our opinion here and I am willing to leave it at that.Auburn, yes. Injuries, I disagree. Team got noticeably better with a tighter rotation. Yep -- as you say, impossible to say for certain. While I find it highly illogical that losing key players to injuries would not result in a negative impact to our record I will acknowledge that it is not possible to say for certain.
