I do think Milan will come to UK. Seems like the money is there and he would be the perfect fit for the guys around him.
Pope has not, and will not, outspend any of the usual suspects for a player like Momcilovic!

I wish he would, but I just don’t see it happening… All Pope really does with these types of players, is extend their recruitment, costing the winning program a little more money, but that’s about it!

Again, I just don’t see Pope’s competition laying down and letting him snag a quality player like this, when he’s one of the last coveted players available!

We paid big for Stokes and lost. I think the issue is more about how Pope and staff handle the negotiating table. If you don’t create some sense of urgency in deal making of this type, you allow your number to be shopped around.

Best thing Pope & co. can do IMHO would be to come out with a big bag that outbids the rest by far and let the player and agency know it is a conditional offer. Take it or leave it. You already know we offer the best fit in terms of positional need, available minutes, system and brand power. If you want it, you’ll be rewarded handsomely for signing. Otherwise, we are retracting our offer and engaging no further.

^ This is a risky way of doing business but it at least prevents your staff from prolonged negotiations and losing all leverage.

If we overpaid for Freeman or Wright, we may not have been in the financial position to sign Momcilovic or any other late draft departee.

For you and me, Kentucky basketball is this much of an investment:

- Our time and energy.
- Visiting games
- Whatever 2 or 3 digit number most of us give to the collectives monthly.

For some boosters, Kentucky basketball is a 7, 8, or 9 digit investment. Those people aren’t playing around. They have enough skin in the game to make things happen when it’s time. That’s why I’ve always found the message board hysteria about firing the coach kind of ludicrous. There are people who live this stuff who never have and never will allow Kentucky basketball to remain dormant.
You really believe the majority of posters on here give that amount to UK NIL??
