Liberty made their bed now they have to sleep in it. Key paragraph (for me):
I'm a Liberty fan and a Chadwell fan. I don't think he's on the hot seat. Last year was pretty bad for him however, things just never clicked right. I expect better this year, but Liberty is between a rock and a hard place. I often wish they had not moved up. They have a great campus and nice facilities, but there's no way at this time they can complete with the Power Conferences for the best players.
He did well at CCU with an innovative offense and some good skill players to run it. Like most offenses, people eventually find a way to defend it and the advantage is minimized without good players.I'm a Liberty fan and a Chadwell fan.
Liberty is outside the top 100 in NIL spending by most estimates. I'm a Flames Club member and I'm pretty sure that's correct. They're still a solid mid-major program with a growing NIL, but they try to compete more on culture, coaching, and facilities than dollars.I didn't realize they were FCs up till 2018, and o ly joined a conference (CUSA) in 2023. Definitely an upward climb, but they have money, as I've heard.
I follow Liberty athletics and like Chadwell, too. I don't expect him to "compete with the Power Conferences for the best players," but he should be able to compete with the best G5 programs.I'm a Liberty fan and a Chadwell fan. Basically describes us compared to the SEC and B1GLiberty made their bed now they have to sleep in it. Key paragraph (for me):
"Coaches in the Group of Six are being asked to win their conference and make a run at the College Football Playoff, while consistently losing players to teams that can simply pay more. They're also all hoping to position themselves for the future, so they can best be situated for whatever may come next. It isn't an easy job."
