We should be very careful considering any coach for any sport coming out of Coastal. Clearly that school recruits itself more so than most.... not a lot to dislike for a young player.

Liberty made their bed now they have to sleep in it. Key paragraph (for me):

"Coaches in the Group of Six are being asked to win their conference and make a run at the College Football Playoff, while consistently losing players to teams that can simply pay more. They're also all hoping to position themselves for the future, so they can best be situated for whatever may come next. It isn't an easy job."

I wanted him, I admit it. Still interested if he can turn it around. He was successful at several stops.

I wonder, for people who follow that program closely, how much NIL is the true culprit, or just the excuse, like at other schools.

I'm a Liberty fan and a Chadwell fan. I don't think he's on the hot seat. Last year was pretty bad for him however, things just never clicked right. I expect better this year, but Liberty is between a rock and a hard place. I often wish they had not moved up. They have a great campus and nice facilities, but there's no way at this time they can complete with the Power Conferences for the best players.

I didn't realize they were FCs up till 2018, and o ly joined a conference (CUSA) in 2023. Definitely an upward climb, but they have money, as I've heard.

Liberty is outside the top 100 in NIL spending by most estimates. I'm a Flames Club member and I'm pretty sure that's correct. They're still a solid mid-major program with a growing NIL, but they try to compete more on culture, coaching, and facilities than dollars.

Chadwell's OC left, supposedly for personal reasons, and a long time assistant promoted. I think 26 will be a good rebound year for LU. At least 7 wins, 9 isn't out of reach.

I follow Liberty athletics and like Chadwell, too. I don't expect him to "compete with the Power Conferences for the best players," but he should be able to compete with the best G5 programs.

I think it is premature to say Chadwell is on the hotseat at this time, now if he goes 4-8 again, then he might be. He went undefeated his first season, then his second season 8-3 in the regular season with the single losing record last year. It is worth noting they lost four game in a row by a single possession last year. I also wonder if NIL is impacted the Liberty program.

Basically describes us compared to the SEC and B1G

If Chadwell had been hired when Beamer was hired, he would have done much better than Beamer has done.
