Ian Happless doing his thing!
Cards will fade like the Reds & Pirates are. Division will come down to the Cubs & Brewers1-3 in the NL Central is going to be brutal this year. I'm not sure how the Cards are playing like they are after selling everyone and rebuilding.

They are playing some of the worst baseball imaginableCubs are 2-8 in their last 10, Brewers are 8-2. I didn't look to see what the records were for say last 15 or last 20.
Cubs had 30+ whiffs in the 3 game set?
And 13 of 15. And that's after winning 10 in a row.8 straight loses

RISP- ABSOLUTELY horrific especially when you consider the pitching woes. 1-15 yesterday RISP and in this slump just bad.Man this team blows right now.
Obviously the pitching injuries are playing a large role but Shota's outing Sunday was brutal. Taillon gets crushed for homers all the time now, Rea is kinda meh, etc. Second worst starting ERA in the majors since May 8th I think. The pen has some decent guys but also some real duds (see the 3rd Sox game).
What is very concerning is how much the offense fell off. They were red hot and after the Texas series have gone ice cold, especially with RISP. We've left way too many people on the bases. Terrible plate approaches, just swinging at too many pitches outside the zone. I have no clue what happened.
I'm glad that Counsell is shaking up the lineup but the FO has gotta think about a trade or two. There isn't anyone in this offense that *really* scares you at the end of the day since so many of these guys are streaky. I would love a guy like Schwarber but that is few and far between. I'd consider trading Seiya tbh. His fielding doesn't make up for his streaky hitting, especially with RISP. Also need to figure out the Busch contract situation.
Alcantara has something like a 30% K rate in the minors. If he comes up, play him. If he isn't good enough, send him down.RISP- ABSOLUTELY horrific especially when you consider the pitching woes. 1-15 yesterday RISP and in this slump just bad.
Cubs called up Kevin Alcantara last Thursday? He has gotten a grand total of 2 AB's since. I'm of the opinion that if he is up, play him. However, we all know Counsell view of rookies. SO, he'll sit some more before being sent down.
Yeah, all the OF could use a day or 2 off. Lets see what KA can do on an extended run of 6 or 8 games even with the K rate.Alcantara has something like a 30% K rate in the minors. If he comes up, play him. If he isn't good enough, send him down.
