White and January both can't keep their friggin' hands off of her.
January was bitching at Lexis as she was coming off the court last game. Lexis just kept walking and rolled her eyes. January is unprofessional and not worthy of respect. So far, I've seen CC, Lexis, and Sophie publicly get into it with her.

Lexie. And your right, there seems to be a disconnect between Whites staff and some of the players.

So does January only have an issue with "Tres Leches"? Hmmm...

Ben Daniel has a video talking about a connection between, get this, White, Kelley Krauskopf, Dawn Staley, and Sandy Brondello. White and Staley both played on the same WNBA team Charlotte Sting in 1999. Good watch if you have the time. ;)

Ok. AGAIN.

1. Has CC commonly been called the GOAT?
Yes. This is not debatable.

2. Is CC the GOAT?
No. I'm sure someone will try. But anyone trying to debate that would have no chance. Because again, at no point has CC been the best player in the world, let alone all time.

3. 1+2=3= CC at the very least, was overrated a couple years ago.

This is not hard.

Before you all get bent out of shape, nobody is saying CC isn't great. Just overrated. It's a function of the fans. Has nothing to do with CC
You’re forgetting one major aspect of the GOAT discussion, it’s opinion, so someone can have the opinion that CC is the GOAT and they wouldn’t be wrong….you might not agree with it, but it doesn’t mean they’re wrong, it just means you have a different opinion. Same with Jordan vs LeBron, Brady vs Montana, and so on. It’s a matter of opinion and preference, so you’re arguing something that can’t be proven.

Dave's not the only one to do this, but I really don't understand why people make mountains out of molehills with this sh**.

The reason Caitlin gets left off these promos and all the other stuff where she's allegedly "shunned" by the league is their attempt (whether it's by CC's own prerogative or even just Cathy Englebert being a bitter Karen b*tch) to give the spotlight to other players and not just make it about CC.

And people like Portnoy jump at the chance to make clickbait out of it from the CC defender side by saying "see, SEE, they're trying to hold Caitlin back and downplay her accomplishments etc etc etc etc.........etc etc."

It truthfully does not do the harm people think it does, even if it is, in fact, coming from a place of spite (in the hypothetical chance that this IS the league/Fever being petty and not wanting to promote Clark).

This does nothing to negatively affect her popularity.

Nothing.........

"Yeah, but-"

Nothing...........

"Okay, but just hear me ou-"

Noooooooottttthhhhh-ing.......................

Let me know when the Aces run a promo without Aja Wilson.

You can call it opinion if you want. But not all opinions are equal.

Certainly, for CC to have been called the GOAT, as a junior in college, wasn't very legitimate/informed opinion.

I have not argued that anyone is the GOAT. So if I'm arguing something that can't be proven, certainly everyone else is, as well.

And that's part of my point. No matter how strong of a case can be made for Miller, or Moore, or Leslie, or Clark as a junior in college (not a strong one). None of them has a dominant enough case to be labeled the GOAT acronym.

The term was not designed to be thrown around. That's my interpretation. It might be on an extreme end. But that's my opinion, right? It's THE GOAT. Not a group of the best players. Very few people should be referred to as the GOAT. Only obvious cases.

And that's been my sensitivity to GOAT crowning, all along. For kids to call Anthony Edwards the GOAT, just because he hit a game-winning shot, just isn't cool. Kids think calling everything under the sun the GOAT, is cool. But it's disrespectful. It has ruined something that was designed to be very special.

A lot of people that referred to CC as the GOAT, weren't even truly giving an opinion, but rather, were just trying to to look cool by using the term, "GOAT".

And that's part of what I warned years ago, would bring unnecessary backlash upon CC. My point hasn't been about who is the GOAT. It's been about the GOAT crowning craze.

It contributed to CC getting overrated a couple of years ago. And has extended to my present point, which is pretty much, "I told you so. Learn from it".

Every bump in CC's pro career is not someone else's fault. Every lack of superhero dominance displayed by CC, is not someone else's fault. And it's not CC's fault either. It's nothing other than fans having set themselves up for disappointment.

For one thing, a woman can't just take over and dominate a professional game like a man can. A lot of fans, new to the women's game, don't know that. For that matter, few men have that dominant type of mentality these days.

But simply, fans fell into the hype. CC is undeniably great. But the GOAT crowning craze, the novelty of a woman that skilled, the novelty of a woman with that deep of range, the thirst and opportunity that was there for a woman athlete to acquire a cult-like following from women.

It all created a hype train of overrating. And it was completely predictable that professional athletes were awaiting the opportunity to get their say

the term goat is arbitrary….. it’s entirely opinion and gets tossed around loosely all the time….. which makes you hijacking this thread to argue about it all the more ridiculous…… how old are you? 14?
AGAIN, I was brought to this thread by someone, who without solicitation, mentioned me and mischaracterized my thoughts, in one of his posts.

The GOAT acronym has not always been tossed around loosely.

It is now. And that is wrong.

And predictably, CC has had to pay part of the price of that wrong behavior

This may be the stupidest post ever in the history of Hort.

I'll ask again, if CC isn't the GOAT of womens college basketball, who DO YOU think it is?

Name a player that is or was better in college ball than CC22. You can do it.

I can name many that don't have distinguishable enough cases to be called the college GOAT.

And I've never said the greatest women's college player isn't CC.

But again, I would never speak the term "the college GOAT" (the acronym), about anyone in any sport. There is no "C" in GOAT. It is not a college term/discussion.

And I don't care who the greatest women's college player might be. It has nothing to do with any of my points. I've barely spoken about greatest women's college basketball player of all-time

Is this guy always like this?
Yes. It's worse on the football board, because he just berates everyone for not being subservient enough as a fanbase.

Someone could literally try to trick him and say, "you're not wrong (about something), I'm wrong".

To which he would reply, "well you may be wrong....but I'm not wrong because I know I'm not wrong."

And then the natural response to that is, "I f***ing know....that's what I just said."

To which he would replay, "Yeah but being wrong is just bad behavior and I know I'm not wrong, because my behavior isn't bad."

And then you go: "...............................................and oh btw

"

That's why he is the new JoesPlace.

Congratulations on sharing your opinion. Too bad it's wrong. Now let's see how you contradict yourself below. 😀

Why would you even barely speak about such a thing if it's not suppose to exist.........in your opinion? 🙂

Thank you for burying yourself finally, and no I don't give a f*** about your response telling me why you think you didn't bury yourself.

Deal with it, Joe.

No, it's a fact. There is no "C" in GOAT.

Read better and/or try not to mischaracterize.

Because I have attached post #3908 for convinience. If you're going to take quotes from it, you might as well properly characterize the context of the particular paragraph.

As we see here, in paragraph 3 of that post (that you've quoted), the context clearly reveals my having spoken about not personally ever using the TERM, "college GOAT".

If I want to discuss the greatest women's college player, I will do so using those words. I will never refer to that player as the "college GOAT". I will never refer to any greatest college player as, "the college GOAT", IN ANY SPORT. I'm not sure what's difficult about this to understand

full text of the tweet:

Passing LeBron, Luka, and Wemby in jersey sales truly sounds unreal

But that's exactly what Caitlin Clark has been doing since her WNBA debut.

The latest data shows that the No. 2 spot for the top-selling basketball jerseys since 2024 does NOT belong to an NBA superstar. It belongs to CC and the WNBA.

Here is the official Top 5:

#1: Steph Curry
#2: Caitlin Clark
#3: LeBron James
#4: Luka Doncic
#5: Victor Wembanyama

Think about the sheer gravity of the names she just cleared. We’re talking about a global icon with over two decades of branding, a superstar with an entire continent behind him, and a generational phenom. The Caitlin Clark effect is real
