Interesting. I wonder if Emely felt the same way with Coach Jensen, and thus is still hesitant to enter the portal.
Wow, shocking that's how AR would explain it away. Lol. Mulkey herself said Reese was the source of "locker room issues" as the cause for her disappearance. It's not some big secret, it already happened again when Angel threw her Chicago Sky teammates under the bus.Reese spoke highly of her relationship with Mulkey and said she appreciated that her coach did not tell the world where she was during her time off.
Outsiders “made assumptions about what was going on," Reese said, but Mulkey "protected my brand."
"And a lot of people didn’t think she protected me," Reese said. "She protected me in the best the way she could, and I always will respect that from her."
Reese said she felt her attitude was "contagious to other people" at the time.
"I wasn't in a good place, like within myself, and I didn't want that to become a cancer in the locker room," Reese said.

Angel Reese clears the air on her two-week absence from LSU basketball last year
Angel Reese is setting the record straight as to why she took a two-week break during her final season on the LSU women's basketball team.sports.yahoo.com
While also saying she's never had a team where she didn't have to deal with issues, stated she's going to protect Reese and her players as they're like family. Again, if she was truly a cancer, she wouldn't have been back.Wow, shocking that's how AR would explain it away. Lol. Probably. Definitely a case of a coach looking out for the person over the player, most likely giving Rodriguez an extra year.Interesting. I wonder if Emely felt the same way with Coach Jensen, and thus is still hesitant to enter the portal.
How many times have those issues led to her removing one of her starters from team activities for 4 games? Also, Chicago's front office is ***. She could have gone about it better, but she was not wrong by saying "If they want to compete they need better players." And now look at them. They're building around Courtney Van Slooten.
Finally, someone gets it.Atlanta got a hell of a steal. Shows they are serious about being winners.
She did call out the owners for not spending money. What roster? It was her, cardosa, and a van slooten that is a shadow of herself. Chicago is a dumpster fire. She said if they wanted to compete they need more talent (not wrong) and after it all blew up she demanded a trade.
To Atlanta.....Or she’s a chemistry killer and it all goes south. A worthy gamble imo.
Probably. But she'll have another massively tall BIG in there with her to clear the way for her to get more "me"bounds as she shoots barely over 40% from within 5 feet of the basket. Lol.Angel Reese moving on to destroy another WNBA franchise?

Man, you two get boners over some sketchy basketball talent.Atlanta got a hell of a steal. Shows they are serious about being winners.
Sarcasm, right?Atlanta got a hell of a steal. Shows they are serious about being winners.
Imagine if she was traded to the Dallas Wings.
We would all want participant's

She made it public that she she had to address mental health issues. It wasn't because she was a "team cancer."
Funny, Lauren Betts left the team halfway through her sophomore year, people are now calling her a champion for mental health. Reese does the same thing against 4 mid major non-cons and she's a "team cancer."
The team also didn't fail because of Reese. She led the team in points and rebounds and had a better shooting percentage than Morrow and HVL (the better players that were brought onto the roster).
Par for the course for her. But hey, she’s helping this league grow.Woof. Not a good home debut for AR... 9 points, 1-8 FG from point blank range, 8 rebounds, 8 turnovers. Ugly. She may need to start putting as much focus on her game as on her pre-game outfit.

WTF are you talking about? Iowa was 7th in the country in FG percentage.Get those for Iowa
I think I meant Indiana. This was so long agoWTF are you talking about? Iowa was 7th in the country in FG percentage.
Actually I prob meant the last 3 games.WTF are you talking about? Iowa was 7th in the country in FG percentage.
In retrospect they may have got fleeced.Atlanta got a hell of a steal. Shows they are serious about being winners.
Did we find out where Gary Barta landed? In retrospect they may have got fleeced.
Retired, so on his feet.Did we find out where Gary Barta landed?
Reese is averaging a double double. In retrospect they may have got fleeced.
Incredible, when you see the bunnies she misses. She's averaging 6 FT attempts/game and shoots 78% from the line. She averages 9 shots/game and is shooting a woeful 33% from the field. FT shooting keeping her buoyant. Barely in the double-double range at 10.7 PTs/game.Reese is averaging a double double.
Her shooting percentage is 33%. Its one thing if you are a 3 point shooter, the shots she takes she should be between 50% and 60%.Reese is averaging a double double.
Reese has not been a good FG% her entire career - that is well known. Her shooting percentage is 33%. Its one thing if you are a 3 point shooter, the shots she takes she should be between 50% and 60%.
She is an A+ rebounding talent - she is not a basketball talent. She is a capable if not good defender, but her offensive skills are high school junior varsity level and that is a stretch.Reese has not been a good FG% her entire career - that is well known.
She is also a d/d machine and a record setting rebounder. She averaged a d/d in the B10 at Maryland and a d/d in the SEC at LSU as well. She averaged a d/d in both of her first two WNBA seasons. It is highly likely that she will average a d/d again this year.
Atlanta knew exactly what they were getting with Reese and she is producing according to her historical record …they did not get “fleeced” as you contended.
I’m on record stating that IMO Reese is a unlikable individual, I don’t like her. It’s clear that most here agree with me. Still, the refusal to acknowledge her bb talent is just silly and downright stupid.
Again with the unnecessary exaggeration. Reese’s offensive skills are limited no doubt, she is a poor shooter for sure. But to characterize her offensive skills as “high school junior varsity level” is hyperbole. She is an A+ rebounding talent - she is not a basketball talent. She cannot shoot - she cannot dribble - average at best passer. She cannot jump. She scores from inside 5 feet and more often than not, on her own misses. Her offensive talent is ridiculously bad for a professional basketball player. My response was to you saying she is a "basketball" talent. That she is not. She is a rebounding talent. Just don't try to make her what she is not.Again with the unnecessary exaggeration. Reese’s offensive skills are limited no doubt, she is a poor shooter for sure. She has scored 20 or more points in a dozen WNBA games in her first two seasons. High school players who could not make the high school varsity squad could do that also? C’mon, don’t be ridiculous.
Watching her shoot from a distance literally looks physically painful. Her form is so weird and awkward. She cannot shoot - she cannot dribble - average at best passer. She cannot jump. On Sunday she had an awful day. She was 1 for 8, and 8 turnovers. Yes she hit some free throws. That performance is not worth 2 1st round draft picks. She was the singular reason they lost against the aces. They benched her and tried to make a comeback without her. Maybe she gets better but if this type of performance continues her opportunities will be limited. She still has a bit of name appeal, but the game and performances is not matching it at all. So yes, in my opinion they were fleeced. Thats my opinion, I have stats to pick that up. We are still in small sample size territory, but Turnovers up, points down, and rebounds flat.Reese has not been a good FG% her entire career - that is well known.

It's early yet but I agree it'll become more clear that it was a horrible trade for ATL. Hell they benched her in the 2nd half against Vegas and that's what sparked the Dream's big late comeback. They did that with her on the bench. On Sunday she had an awful day. She was 1 for 8, and 8 turnovers. Yes she hit some free throws. That performance is not worth 2 1st round draft picks.
