The first two (pilot) episodes of the original series, titled "Cocoon." Positively chilling.
Did anyone mention Andy Griffith and Buddy Ebsen as con men?? The one with Slim Pickens as a murderous patriarch was also good.
I have a high school classmate who lives in Hawaii. He had a bit part as a bad guy in the redux of 5-0 that ran a little while back. His acting career ended with a scene of him as a corpse in the Honolulu morgue. I'll see if I can find the pic.
The Vachon was actually a trilogy. The son, the father, and the grandfather (Patriarch). The best part was at the end of the first episode where McGarret killed the criminal son right in front of the father and kicked him to make sure he was dead.
McGarret was disgusted with all crime - large and small! Fantastic entertainment!!

Another great episode is when McGarret boards a commercial aircraft that a criminal is using to escape. He comes on immediately after captain announces that they are ready to take-off and says: This is NOT your captain and ‘no one is going anywhere.’ And then he proceeds to arrest the criminal scum!
Crime dramas need a new villian each week so they have a lot great guest stars. Ricardo montaban, William shatner, John Ritter, pat Morita, Robert Reed and George takai,
Another fun thing was every time a body went off a building, it was the same dummy scene that was used!

We used to watch Hawaii Five-0 almost every afternoon in Geary Hall (mid 80s) before heading to dinner.
I vividly remember McGarrett’s tires screeching one episode when he was driving on the beach, and learned that there were three versions of his famous line. The most common was, “book ‘em” followed by, “book em’, Danno,” followed by, “book em’ Danno, murder one.” That would result in everybody chugging.
