Yes they were lolThat's sort of the point. As tough as Butler was, the season ended in aa S16 blowout. Were the doubters really wrong?
I'll come out and say I was one of them. I didn't think he fit Mark Pope's offense because he couldn't shoot the 3 well. But I knew he was a very solid player. I just didn't think he fit with Pope's 3 point heavy offense. He really improved from deep while at UK.Yes they were lol
About Butler. AbsolutelyThat's sort of the point. As tough as Butler was, the season ended in aa S16 blowout. Were the doubters really wrong?
Really? That surprises me. I’d take a guy with his postseason resume and defensive acumen any day of the week.I'll come out and say I was one of them. Glad to have been wrong there. My favorite Pope era player as well.Really? That surprises me. I’d take a guy with his postseason resume and defensive acumen any day of the week.
Easily my favorite player of the Pope era
Yea I liked where he was coming from when he did that but it reeks of inexperience. Bad look. Hard to take him serious after that. Maybe he actually can get in some living rooms and get us a couple of recruits. Surely he has enough respect in the basketball world. Everybody loves Mo Williams the player. I think he can do some good things. It wouldn’t surprise me after seeing him so pumped about Stokes picking Kansas![]()
Not about Butler, I meant the team as a whole. Argument would be if we DID have a PG better than him (in addition to him, not replacing him), the team would have done better. So the "doubters" would be correct there.About Butler. Absolutely
im not claiming I knew he was going to be really good but in retrospect, I’d take a healthy Butler every year.

Not doubting ANYTHING about Butler, guy was a true warrior and quintessential Cat. Anyone who shows out against UL is a cat -- reminds me of when Dom Hawkins lit them up out the blue.
I think the roster is a hell of a lot better than quite a few on here think it is. Pope has never had 2 PG that could create like these 2, they can both get to the rim & also create open looks for others. Pope knows how to run offense & Mo will work with all of the guards. How many titles did 5* players get us? Had it not been for getting AD, Calipari's coaching would've did us in more than likely. Mo got here late, he will be able to get us some talent in the future imo.Do you think this roster is loaded?
He'll teach them defenseWhat's Mark Fox's take?
Right? Keep the wave of athleticism going and wear the other teams out...40 minutes of HELL playing 11 or 12 guys from 10 to 25 minutes each

Agreed. I know he’s the assistant now and has to probably say these things but they don’t help themselves with this kind of talk.I can see why him and Pope get along
****, start beating feet then. Nothing stopping you run as fast as your mouth does.More like the average IQ on here is 50, sometimes I feel I’m losing points by just reading the comments. To be clear I’m supporting your comment.
The only thing you’re proving is Pope likes to recruit injury prone players at a discount and turn their “potential”.Year 1 -
Kerr got hurt & never recovered
Carr got hurt & was never the same
Butler got hurt & tried to play through it
Robinson got hurt & never played again
The negativity on this board & name calling blows my mind.1 more title than pope's dopes is gonna get us.
No, he is also proving you would hate on Pope no matter the circumstances as wellThe only thing you’re proving is Pope likes to recruit injury prone players at a discount and turn their “potential”.
You mean for jackson st and their 112 dollar recruiting budget?Remind me again of what Mo’s career head coaching record was?
I’m not sure his is the most trusted opinion on these things.
Damn you just lower the average IQ down to 45, didn’t think that was possible****, start beating feet then. Nothing stopping you run as fast as your mouth does.
This guy gets it. Know the majority of rafters would not recognize the name or the enormous contribution Rod Strickland made in a similar position.Mo Williams was 55-55 against non-Power 5 conference opponents at both Alabama State and Jackson State. That's a necessary distinction. As a member of the SWAC he took on a lot of guaranteed losses for guaranteed money to help try and build those schools athletic programs monetarily. His teams were 14-54 against the P5. In the SWAC he was 59-49 over 6 seasons. At Jackson State his conference record was 47-25.
Also, the guy played in the NBA. He obviously knows talent. Don't confuse taking two jobs at HBCU's with not knowing talent or being able to coach basketball. He took those jobs wanting to give back to his community. Had Pope not offered him a job at Kentucky as an assistant he'd still be at Jackson State. He coached 2 SWAC players of the year, a defensive player of the year, and a freshmen of the year(hints that he knows a litle more about talent than some would want others to believe) in 6 seasons as a HC.
A bunch of idiots with their entire self worth attached to how good UK basketball is.Do you guys wake up this toxic! New coach with new energy…and this all the support he can get! Wow! Smh! Is this the UK board? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Just an example of why MO Williams probably isn’t a very good coach. A 2nd, two 4ths, and a 5th in a terrible conference. Those are results any Pope-splainer could get behind.I know this is coach speak and coming from Jackson State, I’m sure it feels that way that to him to a degree, though were anything but, IMO, does say they’re still try to get two more players.

Oh yeah...you are farrrr more qualified to voice an opinion than he isTo be fair he’s coming from Jackson State, so the level of talent he’s used to getting compared to what we have is different lol
I like our guards also.I think the roster is a hell of a lot better than quite a few on here think it is. Who was injury prone as a recruit? The only thing you’re proving is Pope likes to recruit injury prone players at a discount and turn their “potential”.

Jackson State is a great school with very talented athletes. You mean for jackson st and their 112 dollar recruiting budget?

You, I mean your post, are dishonest pathetic out of context lies that anyone with an average Western IQ can see. You showed your true bird colors when you posted their propaganda (and laughed) to troll this board and you might be a commie, I mean your post. I don't care about your dumb *** reaction score or how many years you've dedicated, just more proof that your life , I mean posts, are FOS.I know this is coach speak and coming from Jackson State, I’m sure it feels that way that to him to a degree, though were anything but, IMO, does say they’re still try to get two more players.
