That’s my opinion Jeff, I disagree with you. I’m not ignoring anything. Jaland Lowe was so great he ended up at Georgetown now. I don’t think he was as good as some of you believe he was even before the injury. Those Pittsburgh teams he played on were awful. JQ and Kam have potential to be really good but it’s going to take time for them to reach it. Last years team just didn’t mesh well and even without the injuries I believe they would have struggled regardless.
I never said Lowe was Chris Paul and I never said JQ was Kat, but JQ showed what he could be in that game and unlike Aberdeen, Lowe was a true pg and he showed how important that fact is in that game.
You guys can't have it both wsys. Either the players suck, or Pope sucks.
You guys are saying they all suck. Well, how is that possible?
Look who was coaching that St Johms team. Rick Pitino is one of the best coaches of all time. He had a fully healthy roster and they were better. How did UK win that game if our players stunk and our coach stinks?
How did UK win at Arkansas, against a far more talented roster and a HOF coach, if Pope sucks so bad?
How did UK win 4 out of 5 over fully healthy Tennessee teams if Pope sucks and our players are/were min major quality?
How did UK beat Gonzaga, Florida, Duke and Illinois, if Pope sucks so bad and our players weren't UK caliber?
Y'all can't have it both ways. Maybe Pope is terribly inconsistent, cool, but I'm having a hard time believing he sucks, when he did all the things he did in year 1, with a roster built on the fly that dealt with so many injuries.
I keep reading comments from guys on here saying this is the worst UK has been in their history. Like, wth kind of a garbage take is that?
I just don't understand how the coach and players suck yet Pope has so many huge wins the last 2 years. Could it be that everything went sideways in year 2 and that's all it was? Most teams that lose their best pg usually suck.
